**AMAZING VTX3D 7970 X EDITION DEAL - £359.99 Inc. VAT!!**

With the prices of the 7970 exploding more dramatically than an Eastenders xmas episode, would the Sapphire 7950 OC be a good choice at £323 with it having custom fan!? could have had the vtx for only a wee bit more if i had acted sooner ;o(

(or maybe they putting the VTX at £420 just so they can do a weekly offer "was £420 now £370" or summat like that)

Maybe wait and see whether OcUK can source more of the VTX in at a similar price point? They may have bumped the price up because there's only a handful in stock?

It could be a sign of things to come, you wouldn't want to buy a 7950 now and then in a couple of weeks time the VTX comes back down :)

i'm thinking exactly the same thing, the 7950 is cheap plus i'm only on 1080p, the 7970 was never as cheap as this.

Yes unless you can find a 7970 for not too much more money.

Well...if ya with me....fancy jumping with me....my head hurts from reading......i'm saying "why do i do this oh why".......av only gone n done it ain't i..........Sapphire 7950 OC comes friday :eek:

I always always say...."keep to the buyers curve" to get best bang for buck and most games apart from BF3 maxed out n looked decent, but i know in future may not have a bit of cash (sort of) spare, so bit the bullet to stop me reading.

If i don't go out drinking at the weekend thats £80 saved towards it so don't appear as bad then.....lol at tricking my mind all the time (i used that last week when i bought my monitor...when i was ok with other lol)

It's a disease and gibbo and the crew get me everytime i pass this site :O)

just been reading about it, card gets a great review as does the ``black edition XFX, it OCs quite easily too, even more than the OC it comes with..... it's about 150FPS in DEUX EX :D

it's slightly slower than the 7970 but you wont notice this on 1080p, this looks like the card to get.....

no he means the low price of this 7970 before it shot back up today.... you see, this low price was the cheapest anywhere on the web too !!!!!!

it was a real bargain..... but not now !.... but the 7950 Sapphire is

yea that's one of them i read too, i dont think the new 670 will sway me because it wont have this dual cooling fan set up, that makes this card OC so well... the ref cards dont look as good do they !!!!

is there a 7950 lightning.. lets take a look
 
Ha Ha...it does get really hard cos each bracket of card grabs you again. then ya never know when Overclockers will drop the card ya just bought on a 1 day special. Think i need to ban myself from here for a while especially if the 7950 drops in price loads when 670 comes out.....but hey it happens. If i didn't have my PC i would end up spending more on the high-street.

Let me know if you join me with the 7950 card and can then look to how it's clocked.

Though my i52500k is at stock (supposed to clock to around 4.5ghz easy) and same with memory thats on stock 1333hz instead of 1600hz. leaves me some breathing space if i need it.

7.9 windows score here we come......lol

Well was considering the VTX 7970 when it was on here for £359.99 but sold out quick and now up to £419

Think some folk said on the 7970 it's stock vcore was a little high compared to others but who knows. Does look very similar fan though. Cant see many reviews for that card so opted for a tried and tested one and Shapphire are supposed to be decent. (would have gone MSI if they had it at this level, reason i looked this high was because msi 7850 been so long overdue and 7970 too expensive.)

Might us MSI afterburner to clock the card just so can monitor temps and fan speed etc with my G19 keyboard.

NO NO NO, this is the 7950 :p...... look again !

i've just read it's review, it's fine and very similar to all the rest, i.e it OCs like crazy, it has one fault..... it looks ugly !

it's the same as the others just leaves the factory with a lower OC, but this is easy to OC, just like the Sapphire.

yes, it might be wise to wait till after the 670 comes out and get something like this on a week special, mind you it's so cheap now that i'm tempted to get it, but i suppose i'd better not

The vtx's stock vcore is high because its factory overclocked,I guess its that way to ensure stability

Vtx are a division of powercolor for anyone wanting to know,geeez I'm such a geek

Yeah same thought pattern as me. Except I bit the bullet and ordered, delivery is Friday ;0) eeeek!
Expensive to say I was looking at 7850 for £200 mark. But, stops all my reading and all other Saphire cards on this site have either disappeared or out of stock with that cooler.
I waited onthink with the VTX 7970 and missed out so thought what the heck, it has good reviews. Might be £300 in 2-3weeks time but just way it goes I suppose.
