First test / review: Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric 2

As of yesterday I've now moved my ST200 from CS3s to AS2s. Tyre size is 225/40/18.

First impressions? Positive.

I think they might be slightly quieter than the CS3s, although that could be placebo.
Responsiveness seems spot on, possibly even better than the CS3s.
Rainy today and not a hint of an issue.

In short, first impressions are that they are at least on a par with CS3s. I'll need a fair bit more time to give a proper verdict, not least to compare their wear rate, which in my mind was the one big weakness of the CS3s.

Surprised the 265/35 R18 97Y version is the cheapest of the premium brands at £191 each. The Continental SportContact 3's are £230 each. Of course I could save a few £££ and buy Sunny SN3970 at £85. Hopefully won't have to buy any for another 14K miles.

£191? Thats very good, I scoured for weeks and the best I got was £198.50 fitted.

Just did a search on MyTyres for fully fitted. Was very impressed with the price especially as my local tyre fitter will usually price match.

Being fitted today so will give feedback soon.

I need to go back to WIM at some point as the inside edges are wearing out on the front tyres.

I've gone from CS3's to AS2's, pretty happy with the change so far.

I went for the XL version in 225/45/17, they were about £105 each.

Fitted now. Went for XL front so they are 91Y all around. All four fitted for £454 at work by event tyres.

Going to let them bed in first before feedback. However initial impressions are that it still feels firm despite brand new tread running 32psi all around. Will see what they are like in 500 miles.
