Guild Wars 2

Farming the Rise quest in the HoM. 12k exp, 1k gold, 2.5k vanguard rep, 5 war supplies and loooooooooooooads of consumables. Might be able to get both the vanguard maxed and survivor which would be cool.

Server selection doesn't bother me too much, in games like SWTOR you can pick servers to avoid the Russians and others who ruin the game, in GW2 it doesn't matter which server you are on, you will get pitted against 2 other servers in WvW so you are likely to fight the russians/cheaters at some point. Only advantage to server section in GW2 is trying to minimize non-english chat in general (which I ignore anyway, I filter my chat to things like guild, group, raid, whisper etc...), but even then swapping servers sounds like it'll be more simple in GW2 than other games.

Fuggin' 'ell fire, might get a letter from TalkTalk for going over my limit. I swear this better be worth the the bandwidth. All my mate's have been yapping about this for ages but i've yet to see if it will take WoW's crown.

I doubt the groups of players listed in those posts are going to be the biggest group. I doubt that the server with 4chan on is going to be filled with people spamming memes and child porn. Neither do I think that the somethingawful crowd is going to destroy FoW.

To be honest, if I was going to pick a server just on the strength of who's on it, I'd follow yogscast. Not because I'm bothered about them, but with their "fame", you can garuantee that a) it's going to be a busy server and b) there's going to be lots of English speakers there.

20 vaettir runs with double exp scrolls, 1 hour 50 mins total, 741,900 EXP and still alive!

Go go easy survivor! I'll do the rest tomorrow.

It won't take WoW's crown, it will provide something different that may or may not turn out to be popular.

WoW is much bigger than people seem to think and ultimately, as long as it (GW2) has a lot of players, it's not something you should be worried about.

Another thing these betas will nicely reveal. Should give us a good insight into the communitys on the servers and let you find that hardcore, roleplay, casual, doosh server that suits you :)

Guild Wars and WoW have always had different target/captive audiences, really. The differences between GW1 and WoW are obvious enough to anyone, and I think that even though GW2 is establishing itself more as a 'Massive' online game, it'll still try to retain its own unique sense of identity and place in the MMO market.

Probably been asked in this thread a million times already but where are people finding is the best place to pre-purchase?

I was just about to buy through the official site but noticed it's digital version only? Wouldn't mind a boxed version if possible.

I'm guessing the benfit of buying through the official site you get your beta code straight away though?
