I have the same problem so If you do go for them I'd be very interested in how it works out. Need to get a bigger desk first though.

I got the monitors and was hoping to get them set up tonight but have hit a snag, my "desk" which I made from a piece of kitchen worktop has a hole cut right in the middle for the cables to come through, the trouble is that exactly where the middle monitor needs to sit so I'm going to have to take it down and cut another hole which probably won't be until the weekend.

Just ran a few laps in the caddy with spils at okynawa or how ever you spell that and it wasn't too bad I actually started to enjoy it, back end is very loose some times tho when off throttle mid corner...but no way should this be a rookie car I know it has to be right now but boy its gunna be messy in the lower splits...

Steve, have you tried the tweaked baseline set that was posted on the forums yet? It's supposed to be a lot easier to drive, there's a bit of a push to get that implemented as a new baseline because the main series is going to be fixed setup iirc.

But I agree, really is too quick for a rookie car, gonna be very messy, which on the plus side could make the spectating mode worth using :p

I haven't really josh was just getting the feel for the car, the bassline set that a iracing staff memeber posted is what I'm using, but I defo need to sort the rear end out its got big potential tho.

If they don't change that bassline it uses now there's no way ill be racing it, I also won't be racing it if there isn't massive numbers lol...

Are the week 13 events known for being full of idiots? I've tried two races this evening and in both of them I've been wrecked. Also appears to be lots of rubbish chat in game!?

Basically yes :p

Avoid the official races like the plague, nothing good will come of it...

These are a shining example of why there's the licence system and a variety of series to spread people out a bit.

The 'fun' races can be ok, but go in and expect to be wrecked and then you won't be disappointed.

These are a shining example of why the SR system does actually work, even if at times it doesn't seem like it :)

That's ok then. I thought I was just having a shocking night (more than normal). Really want to get out of my D class so I can try the Radical. Think I'll focus on the skippy for the next week so when the new season kicks off next week I'm ready :).

Eagerly awaiting your feedback. I don't think my bank balance is though :p

what times we all getting with the different sets, I just managed to break into the 1.31's with Graveys set.

One thing i noted I couldn't get out of 1.34's until i turned some of my graphics options down using F I noticed my Fps kept spiking down from my set 91 into the 60's and everytime it did that the backend would spin or the brakes would lock or the car would just skid under braking, now I've got a more stable 90fps

I did a 1.31, hopefully we can all work togther and come up with something decent as the base sucks.

Never noticed my fps dropping so bad in the mx5 guess with everything so slow the physic spikes dont effect me.
Going to roll back my drivers from these 3.** since i updated from the2.** my Iracing performance as took a beating.

I know most of you will probley have stupidly high frames with your tripple screen setups, but for anyone else here. Make sure tou got a stable FPS first and foremost.

[dislamier]
Im new to Iracing and high all the above could be a load of tosh :P just thought id share my findings.

That's not my set mate just 1 off the forum...I'm gunna mess with it tho..

1.32 I did I was a 1.2 seconds up on it but lost it inbetween the 2nd to last corner and the last corner, got opt of 1.30.x...

Not sure about the graphics having a effect on times mate sorry...

The graphics thing is simply you not getting the information you need to react to the car if that makes sense, you can drive around it but it's always sketchy...

I've 'only' got a 6950/70 for my triple screen setup, most places I can run full details but not Spa, I was getting <40 at bits, I could still put in the times but was making a lot more mistakes, lowered the details to get the framerate back over 60 at all times and no more problems :)

Oddly I find having an uncapped framerate that varies makes it easier to live with lower framerates, I used to get awful tearing so capped the framerate to 60FPS to match the monitor and if it read just 57 it was awful, now it's uncapped so moves from 70-150 generally I only really notice the low framerate when it gets to the 40's.

Didn't really notice the fps, but only did 5 laps, I read some people saying it was hard on framerates but after dropping the details by a chunk at Spa it was fine, I think with those details I'm now heavily CPU limited (E8400 @ ~4GHz), need myself a SB/IB system but too much monies :p

I'm not too bad on that front got a 2600k running @ 4.5, I'm not uprgading till at least next year or after new consoles are out..me and gimpymoo was talking about this earlier funny enough...

I wasnt aiming that at you, I know its not going to effect you, we haven't all got your setup and a solid 130fps. FPS will 100% have an effect on your physics trust me on that one I don't need to debate that with you.

It wont effect you with a solid 130fps, but the rest of us not at a solid 130fps its worth checking. I Even just tested it myself, turned graphics back up every time I got to T2 or the hairpins with a bunch of cars my fps spiked can see it using F and the car 9 times out of ten will end up in a slide of some kind.

I don't think I noticed it before as I was doing 60-80 mph in that little mx5 and was always in control, now though we are over a 100mph a lot of the lap I can really feel the spikes.

Now I've dropped my frames I'm foot planted through t2 for example half way through the bend and Im coming out the other end with the front of the car pointed at T3 not t1. ;)

If it doesn't help anyone it doesn't help anyone, worth checking imo.

Anyway just got a 1.31.056 :P nearly at the 1.30's took a few laps at summit point(think thats the name of the track) after that. Its bloody lovely round there and a lot easier as I know the track just been tanking it around there.
This car is all steered through the loud pedal and the quite pedal, the wheels just there to aim it at the bend are my findings so far.(typical yanky car)

i dont get 130 fps solid mine drops to the 70's on a few tracks...

i was just saying that i dont know if what you describe will effect your times, as i dont have no knowledge on that really, so i dont know why you was aiming that at me???

mosoprt is tomorrows 24 hours of fun track so that will be a good test for the opening week of the season...

EDITED THE ORIGINAL REPLY lol added the 'nt off was I missed that part lol.

Sorry G, thought you said the other day you cap at 130fps due to you running at 120hz or I've mixed that up with your fov or something lol you no what I'm like.

The reply was due to you saying you didn't think it effected it, from my understanding of sims your fps effects the physics a hell of a lot. But as your getting good frames anyway nope your not really going to benfit, others here struggling may, it may just be a placebo on my part and I just found 2 seconds by doing a few extra laps. After all its my first day of really driving it. But the feedback defo feels a lot better for me now with the caddy.

The very basics of it..
If you get 90fps and I get 30fps, over 10 seconds your see 900 frames ill see 300fps so in the space of ten seconds G you have an extra 600 frames of feedback, inputs, and physics calculations.

Simplest way I can think of, to explain it to you and why it my be effecting me. Obviously there's a lot more to it than that. I'm sure someone here can explain it better. :D

Think the sweet spot for I-racing is 83fps ? Think its documented somewhere?

Yeah got my FOV at 133 and iracing capped my fps at 169 but it drops all the time, just cos I've got a half tidy rig aint my fault I worked for my money and pc/sim racing is my only hooby so that's were my money goes...

I get all that what you said but like you said it dosent effect me or I haven't noticed it...

I tried a race in the Cadillac last night. It was fun but it was a complete wreckfest. Someone managed to get 80 incidents! It was good wreck avoidance practice :p

The baseline set-up can't actually do 25 laps of Okayama though since filling the tank up enough makes the set fail tech. I'll give the user recommended baseline a try tonight since it's apparently much much better.
