My friend wants to upgrade his PC this is what he told me he wants, ive said it wont work but hes insisting it will. can someone have a look.

I think it is mATX, it is SATA, but not sure on the power supply. I did have a poke around I think it was 500w

Here is Guru3D's power supply recommendation:

Radeon HD 7850 - On your average system the card requires you to have a 500 Watt power supply unit and 650 Watt if you go with two cards in Crossfire mode.
Radeon HD 7870 - On your average system the cards require you to have a 550 Watt power supply unit as minimum and 700 Watt if you go with two cards in Crossfire mode.

You might want a better PSU - depends on the make/model if you can find that out
 
Any M68 chipset is fail nowadays, if he did want an AMD it is far better to go 880/900 chipset.

I would go 2500k with 4Gb of ram initially costs an extra £50 but may be better for the GFX setup and gaming.
