which one of these three boards?

ok so ive got a i5 2500k and 8gb or mushkin radiactive ram.
all i need is a board now. i had me eyes set on a board but this weeks price drops have got me thinking. so sorry to ask this again, what board is the best?

so, the sniper looks nice but its small.
why dont boards have pci slots anymore?

If you are after a decent board and with a PCI slot I've just reviewed this - asrock z77 extreme4. similar kind of price-range, has the looks, features and performance. deffo worth a look mate. Review - here

MSI's range are also worth a look!

The Gigabyte Z77X-D3H offers the most for the money but when i upgrade i think it will be the ASRock Z77 Extreme4 for me.

You are google searching but when you follow through they add tax plus when you look at the reviews WARNING screams out. Overclockers are in my opinion one of the best e-retailers and there aftermarket service is the best.

you are absolutely correct oc is the way to go.
i was trying to highlight my confusion, did it work? lol.

i meant going on price alone isnt a good wat to pick a board. this is harder than picking a girlfriend.

one question. why have boards dropped the pci slot? is it not needed? why not is it not handy?

I think, like IDE, they're just phasing it out. Some boards have PCI still.
Most sound cards/wireless cards and other add in cards tend to the be PCIe now.

if it were me I'd get the D3H or UD3H - Gigabyte make solid boards, and have a UK RMA base.

Also it seems the UD3H is a good overclocker:

im not a big overclocker, i dont think its that easy to pick up.

With UEFI BIOS and an i5 2500K, overclocking is quite straight forward.

The alternative is an MSI like this:

the asrock does look really nice. i heared they were owned by asus but were a cheaper version. is that true?

No, chances are the cheaper one will have more features than you need anyway

I think Asrock only do 2 years warranty. I've heard there was some relation to Asus, but not too sure on that. They do make fairly nice looking boards!
