They were two threads about the same topic.

Anyway back on to aforementioned topic... :p

@hullstephen said:
Abby said suspect was 'a bit spotty' police are talking about 'taking him out' she says. All directly from her 5 mins ago

:eek: Could be getting serious :eek:

They really weren't.

Unless one of the threads was started by someone with the ability to see 13 months into the future!

Anyway, who is this Abby person (and more importantly is she hot?)

This was the original post - Not sure why the first post in this thread is from 2011 though... bit bizarre...

I also have been wondering about who "Abby" is - He keeps relaying information from her, but who knows if she is a credible source or not... Or whether or not she's hot. :p

Hahaha! I thought of this! The guy looks too small to be taken seriously :p

Why is that guy wearing a balaclava? I always think they're special forces that have been brought in to assist which is why they're covered... I mean, there's bound to be a few of them in London doing surveillance and training anyway. Add to that he's in civvies and not an armed police uniform.

Plain clothes firearms officers are not uncommon. Could also have been on call rather than on duty.

As for the balaclava, it's both to protect the officer's identity as well as psychological effect on the suspect.

We have been told to evacuate our building now......goodbye OcUK......it has been emotional.

Must be a serious threat then if they are still emptying surrounding buildings! Hope it all ends peacefully! Get on your phone and be our live blogger :p

"Good Afternoon, this is OcUK news. A man has taken hostages at an office building in Tottenham Court Road in London. Live at the scene... xibinim... What do you see?" :p

1: True.
1a: (edit) Just reading up about the SRR, Special Reconnaissance Regiment. They were alleged to have been involved in the Menezes shooting. That might explain plain clothes individuals turning up and the covering of faces. And with the 'lympics coming up, they'll be all over the city.

2: I'm just going through pictures of British armed police on google image search and seeing them sporting balaclavas is rare as hens teeth. The balaclavas they do use seem to be the single opening version. The three hole one appears infrequently. That's why I think it looks out of place when they turn up.
