Don't be idiotic, you undermine any argument you may actually have...

DOES THIS LOOK LIKE A JOKE TO YOU???

He's not.

People can be addicted to fast food, people can be addicted to cannabis.

Too much of either is bad for you, probably more the fast food.

Yet the fast food is legal and the cannibis is illegal (here anyway).

How many people DIE or SUFFER from weight induced illnesses every year?

A lot, compared to hard drug users.

A lot more, compared to soft drug users.

I'm so unsure on this subject. I think that legalizing cannabis is quite a good idea. If the government can tax it and it still be affordable, imagine how much more money that is for the government. The amount of money people pour into drug dealers is incredible, if the government could tap onto that it would make things much better. Also would mean less dealers or pot and maybe less crime.

But then, the way things are now, the way people abuse current substances is disgusting alcohol for example. If they were to legalize cannabis here, you can bet people will be abusing it to hell here too.

The majority of people who want to smoke it in this country aren't put off by the fact that it's illegal. But it being legal would introduce another source of tax income and massively reduce what danger there is by allowing production to have restrictions and inspections, so you actually know what you're taking.

Plus it would allow a lot of people to use thier medicine without running the risk of going to jail.

Mr. Matthews, a 55 year old grandfather who uses cannabis to manage chronic back pain incurred in an industrial accident 33 years ago, was convicted for both possession and cultivation of cannabis. He uses cannabis due to negative side effects from other treatments. Due to prior convictions for cannabis possession and cultivation, and Mr. Matthews’ refusal to stop medicating with cannabis, Judge Matthews handed down a sixteen month sentence. This is despite draft sentencing guidelines being published last week that seek to recognise the growing scientific consensus on the use of cannabis to control chronic pain.

Excess of anything is bad. Even too much water, or too much oxygen, ffs!

But there's a difference between fast food and cannabis. A kid could make up his diet of fast food, for a whole month, but then go on to have no long term health difficulties. A kid smoking weed for a month, but then have long term mental health problems.

Of course fast food carries 'risks'... but they're different risks, and can't be directly equated.

"but then go on to have no long term health difficulties."

That's definitely not true. You're pulling facts out of thin air here.

GO watch "Super High Me" and then watch "Super Size Me"

please tell me what you think after that.

Also another stupid point in your post is:
You refer to 'a kid'. As if they would legalize cannabis here and make it available to under 18's, yet fast food is available to anyone of any age. And tbh fast food is probably a lot worst for you.

Also for having no long term health difficulties, sure that's possible.

What happened to the fat kid in your school, was he bullied? Probably. More than just physical health issues arise from eating to much fast food and having the consequences.

Whilst I agree there is a lot more to Dam than just getting stoned, this move is just stupid & especially for the BS reasons given as to why. The Dutch government must be high themselves if they think the majority of people go there for any other reason than to get toasted. No doubt lots of coffee shops will close as supply will end up outweighing demand meaning job losses.

Been coming for a while this. As an occasional smoker (and visited Amsterdam a few times for the simple reason of enjoying a J in a coffee shop or 3 with friends) I'm kinda disappointed.

be interesting to see what happens to admsterdams tourism, change of visiting demographic, etc.

This is basically not going to happen, the Ruling CD party are about to lose power and have no chance of getting back in, other parties have siad they will bin the idea, even if that doesn't happen then there are still challenges being made on discrimination between EU citizens

If you bother to read the thread, you'll see I'm open to a discussion about how to regulate drugs (because as a broad idea, I'm in favour of that). You making childish comparisons doesn't lay the foundations for a sensible debate, however... you just undermine your position before you've even started, turning people off to the discussion... congrats!

Did I ever say that? And what's your point?

Present your case instead of attacking what and how people are saying things :p
