Dirt 3 flickering/poor FPS?

Hey guys,

I've already had a quick google but my skills must be lacking. Has anyone experienced flickering and poor FPS on Dirt 3?

Seems to flicker no matter the graphics settings and the slowdown makes my FPS drop from 60 down to 20 then back to 60. Never had this problem when the game was released but I've just wanted a bash on it - now it's unplayable!

Dirt 2 plays fine however, so I'll play some of that for now

usual generic advice: update graphics drivers, try setting graphics as low as possible, turning off vsync etc. then work your way up from there.
Also close any background programs and check load on CPU.

All of the above tried, seem to be having an issue with Dirt 2 now. The FPS over 60 solid but every now and again it dips to below 30fps.

From what I can gather the engine writes the replay to a 2GB file on your system drive. Going to see if this is the issue as I have a fairly old SSD for my system drive.
