Bought my Samsung TV in 2008 from Teleland, which came with a 5 year warranty.

Teleland no longer exists/gone bust?

What options/rights do I have as I'm still in warranty?

The TV doesn't turn on, just "clicks." Is there a point of fixing it?

Thanks.

Check the warranty to see who underwrites it. A lot are underwritten by Domestic and General in which case you should still be covered by them as Teleland were in effect just agents for D+G :)

The only problem is I don't have a paper warranty and the online link doesn't work!

I not sure about going rate for get it fixed professionally as i repaired my tv at the cost of £2.09 for the capacitors, granted I borrowed the soldering iron.

If you feel confident enough have a go yourself.

Our Samsung TV did the same couple of years ago.
The TV was bought from Currys and warranty had ran out with Samsung.
But when I phoned Samsung, they sent an engineer to fix it at no extra cost.

IIRC, they said that the model/batch of our TV had the "ticking" problem.
What model is your Samsung TV?
You could try ringing them?

If you bought on a credit card, the cc company are legally liable to help you out (consumer credit act 1974 iirc). Depending on what you want, you could ask them to refund the cost of repair and/or pay for a replacement warrantly until the date the original one would have lasted.

Had that happen with an old laptop from Multivision who went bust. The company who bought them or something weren't liable for the warranty but offerred a new one at a discounted price. I got Mastercard's approval to buy it and they refunded me the cost.

Unfortunately I paid by debit card :(

Model: le40m87bd

The repair guy said there's a problem with the PSU, £95+vat.

I will call Samsung on Monday.

Does that price sound right?
