ive order 2 used sticks of xms2 i thought that i might of been ripped off and there faulty but ive noticed a few people having issues with these any one got any ideas ?
Have you tried the RAM one stick at a time in each of the different RAM slots?
are you using the latest bios for the mb? might be unsupported/bios issue with that make/model of ram?
ive only got the 2 1gb corsair 1.9v
but ive also got 2 x 1gb transcend 1.8v
is it ok to run these together in dual channel?
Assuming speed and timings are the same then it should be as long as you can find a voltage they're both happy with.
Perhaps try 1.85V.
Isn't there a system voltage you may need to up a bit if using 4 sticks? Is it the northbridge?
cant at moment dont know if you seen my other post but the div who had the mb before me cut the nb heatsink off so just ordered
Zalman ZM-NBF47 Northbridge FHS Flower Mobo Cooler Heatsink
got them on 1.85 as you suggested all seem ok for now![]()
If they're all working OK without increasing the northbridge voltage then just leave it.
there working as for timeing please take a look at this
You're looking in the wrong place.
To see what your RAM is actually running at you need to look at the Memory tab.
According to the SPD all the RAM should run 5-5-5-18, 800MHz (400x2) @ 1.80V.
In the Tools menu there's an option to save your current settings to a profile.
Do this first.
If anything goes wrong you can clear the CMOS, load the profile and be back to where you are now.
In the Advanced Menu change the DRAM frequency from Auto to 800.
The default voltage is 1.80V I believe so you should be able to leave that on Auto.
Also in the Advanced Menu is an Option for Advanced Chipset Settings.
Within that is an option for Northbridge Configuration.
Within that is an option for Configure DRAM Timing by SPD.
I think you want this set to Enabled.
You've overclocked the processor by increasing the FSB from 266MHz to 332MHz.
As the RAM speed is relative to the FSB the RAM speeds you can select have changed from what they would be at stock settings.
You can leave it as it is (~667MHz) or try to get it running at the next speed up by increasing the DRAM voltage a bit and possibly loosening the timings if you can find the option in the BIOS.
As an aside I would have thought the next speed up would be ~833MHz (667x332/266).
What you're running now, ~667MHz, is 533x332/266.
And I really need to get to bed.
I'll check back later.
all i know is memory remapping is dissabled ?
what do i need to do now
