**GTX 690 @ OcUK!!**

It's a nice card but for that kinda money i'd want 8gb, 2x4gb... Think i'll go 680 4gb and stick one more in @ xmas...

Insaw Gibbo post a lineup for the coming months, no GTX 685 in there :S

Wow, serious looking card. I would have thought they'd put two fans on it for temps. £800 though???

Those FPS he quoted is at 2560X1440.

hows the power issue with this compared to the 590 what would just blow up for no reasson as such?...

Nice looking card tho...

They didn't blow up for no reason, if you used the wrong drivers or put too much voltage through it then it goes in to BBQ mode. If left at stock, or very very mild overclock then its fine.

You have to be super rich or a lunatic. 'Investing' this sort of money in to a GPU only for a newer faster card to appear in less than 12 months must be gutting :P

Hah, I know:P but the price is just crazy. The sweet spot is always the mid range cards, I'm really surprised Nvidia have released the 690 before any of them.

Not true Andy, only ever true for high end computer equipment. Buy high end audio equipment and it will last decades, same with watches but you buy a GPU for 800 and it's going to be worth 'not a lot' come a years time.

I don't think there's any game on the pc worth paying 800 to play! Now obviously if I was rich I would buy one...but I'm not hence my rather bitter, jealous, negative perspective. Nice card though;)

Well, my 590 runs crysis 2 on ultra at 60fps plus, so I wouldnt believe that

From the press release:
(1) Testing was conducting comparing the GeForce GTX 690 versus GTX 680, running at a resolution of 2,500 x 1,600. Driver version used was 301.10. In the Heaven benchmark, with 4xAA/16xAF settings, GTX 690 scored 58.9 fps while the GTX 680 scored 31.1 fps. For Crysis 2 Ultra, the GTX 690 scored 57.8 fps while the GTX 680 scored 32.3 fps. In Dirt 3, with 8xAA/16xAF, the GTX 690 scored 111.2 fps, while the GTX 680 scored 62.3 fps. For performance, a higher number is better.

Now i'm a little more impressed.... 2,500 x 1,600
