Hello guys,

I'm trying to remove the two pre-made water cooling holes on the top of the case. Is there a trick to removing them? Do I need any special tools?

I have put a fair bit of force on them and they are pretty stuck. Im scared of denting the top of the case as its made from aluminium.

Regards,
Sid

Ooh, erm, try twisting them out? They're attached (by the looks of things) in two places (black arrows), so try applying pressure to the red arrows and twist them out.

Argh , This is seriously annoying now.

It looks like they are welded around or something. Its impossible to get something between the two surfaces.

Looks like I might need a dremel for this or a drill?

Anyone care to reccomend me a tool for this job?

I've heard you can't really use a drill on the aluminium? Do I need to buy a dremel or will anything cheaper do the job?

To be honest they look very similar to routing holes found in the back of 240v metal cased sockets, 3 dots of solder/weld to hold them in position, though these are made from a light steel.

I'd be tempted to just smash a punch or screwdriver through the centre, should break off those tac points.

Yes!

I managed to knock them out with a hammer in the end. Broke the flap which covers the usb ports at the top from the shock impact :(

Anyways, Does anyone know of a way to make the inlet ports look better, I mean the tube will be much smaller so how can I get a flush finish? Anything off the shelf I can buy?

edit/ What do you think of bitspower black sparkle L fittings. They are larger than the knockout holes so shouldn't fall through but doesn't appear to be any way of clamping them in.

Regards,
sid
