I'm looking for a cooler and was intending on buying a Corsair H80 until I saw this: OcUK H2Flo Extreme

Now, I already have a few Noctua NF-P12s lying around, so this seems like it could save me some money as I would not be using the Corsair H80 fans anyway.

But I have a few questions before I buy the OcUK H2Flow Extreme:

Is it literally the same thing as the H80, just without the Corsair box/manuals and fans?

Am I going to be expecting the same temps/noise from this with the NF-P12 fans as I would if I just bought the H80 and replaced the fans with the NF-P12 fans?

Does it include the same quiet/performance/balance button that the Corsair H80 has?

Is the OcUK H20 Flo going to be affected by any differences in quality control when they're manufactured vs the branded Corsair H80s?

Any other differences I should be aware of? Warranties, etc.

There's little to go on given they are a fairly new OCUK product, but one can only assume they come from a reliable OEM. After all, OCUK do not stock poor quality hardware.

The single review in the product page sounds like utter garbage though - 9 degrees idle??! I think not!

The H2Flo Extreme is an 'unbranded' H80, all the units are made by a different company (asestek or something?).

Performance should be the same with both units and I think the H2Flow does include the balance button too.

The warranty will be with OCUK, though they don't say how long it lasts? I know the Corsair units come with a 5 year warranty.

Edit: The 9 degree idle is probably taken from someone using an AMD chip and reading the wrong sensor ;)

Okay so basically if I pay £4 more I can get a 5 year warranty and peace of mind and 2 spare fans. Guess there's no point in the OcUK H2Flo Extreme/

Yup. Plus, they are both manufactured by CoolIT.

Thats the company I was thinking of! Are they in any way related to Asetek? that name keeps jumping into my head.

To be fair the Price of the H80 has come down allot in recent months, where as the H2Flo coolers have consistently floated around that £65 mark.

Back in September when I purchased an H80 I payed £86 for it, that was local purchase, iirc online retailers were closer to the £90 mark. But at that time the H2Flo was just emerging...for £65.

But all in all I agree, I'd pay the extra few quid to carry the corsair name, warranty and have the spare fans.

Nope, CoolIT is Canadian whereas Asetek is Danish.
