Best phone for ~ £100

tbh g300 is fast and good but in 2012 you would expect that for a budget phone yes it is impressive compared to SF but SF came out ages ago

Just like to point out that an update fixing the speaker volume has been released and works fine for me. Really pleased with the phone as my first step into android. Can't wait for ICS. :)

My cousin got one and i must say im stunned at how good the phone is for £100

the SF had an absolute shocker of a camera but from the samples my cousin sent me the Ascend even has a decent camera and a decent video recorder, I can post samples for anyone needing it

The Ascend looks excellent for £100.

If you can stretch to £119 and you fancy something different to Android then give the Nokia Lumia 710 a go, excellent value handset, very well made, powerful Qualcomm 1.4ghz 8255T processor and Adreno graphics, decent camera and Windows Phone OS.

Sorry to hijack, but where can you get a 710 for £119, need a stop gap as my Bold just broke. :-(

Hey Macky, i am just wondering how is the phone going? I am thinking about picking one up, seems perfect for the price tag.

Going well. No problems so far. I use GO Launcher instead of the Huawei one as it's much better IMO. The speaker bug got fixed in an update and I guess ICS can't be too far off now. :)

Can you get rid of the Huawei bloatware and just stick Launcherpro on? If so I'll probably be getting this. Reviews say the ringtone is too quiet but not really an issue for me, have my phone on silent most of the day.

Comment: How to fix speaker
1. Go to "Settings"
2. Press "About Phone"
3. Tap "Online Upgrade"
4. Tap "Firmware upgrade"
5. Your phone will check for an upgrade and will show a new version name: "Asura_Vodafone_B885"
6. Press Download - you will be reminded to connect to WiFi
7. Press OK and the download will commence
8. Your phone will restart to install firmware after finishing download

Can't complain here. Easily get over a day with average use. 2 days normally + for me I think haven't really been monitoring though.
