Tourists Banned From Dutch Cannabis Cafes

While I like going there and I don't smoke. It's going to be annoying as some of the best bars over there are weed bars...Meaning for myself who just drinks over there I won't be able to enjoy the pub anymore!

You made the statement that it's been proven to not be harmful. Can you evidence that?

Sure I could - But there is almost too much evidence, what would you want to see as sufficient "evidence"?

At the end of the day, the amount of positives there are to Cannabis use outweigh the negative.

Here is 670 pages of references and sources to how helpful Cannabis can be used medicinally.

It will be a disaster for tourism, those who wish to avoid the weed and shady spots avoid the center. The Amsterdam city officials who obviously know more than some brainless people on here are strongly against the move, since they have said the impact it will have on tourism will be catastrophic.
...and all this during a recession?

Weed ruins lives, too .

It does? Let me just check.... big house in the country.. check.... two BMWs....check.... no debt....check....good job..... check....great girlfriend....check......great friends....check......

yup, my life is a piece of **** :(

So now you've shifted from 'no harm', to 'the benefits outweigh the harm'...

And no one's denying the fact there can be medicinal uses, but you said it'd been proven to be harmless :o.

Just the way I've worded it, I wouldn't look too much into that. As far as I'm aware it is completely harmless. When anyone says "it causes this... and that... etc.", I've always seen a report stating, with evidence, that it isn't the case.

There is a film I've seen called "Super High Me". It's a take on the popular documentry 'Supersize Me'. In it, Doug Benson, an American Comedian, spends 30 days not smoking Cannabis, and then 30 days non-stop smoking Cannabis. As per the test results (shown on the wikipedia page here), the only real disadvantage of the 30 days non-stop smoking, was his weight :p

Yeah, the number of plants would suggest such a thing, when you think he was probably growing a few medicinal strains and take off those mother plants, and all the potential clones (the ones that will never be grown to end stage anyway) odds on that he had a perpetual weekly harvest grow on the go.

Still, the CPS (I'm guessing, as we still haven't been furnished with a full source) proved, beyond a reasonable doubt, that he had enough to sell/was selling for profit/whatever.
Meh, it's not hard to convince an ignorant judge of such things...

Love all the cool kids with "dealers" at the touch of a button and defiantly smoking weed. Well jel.

Lol, I wish I didn't live in a small town sometimes, it's common place in the cities. Not just for smoke either...

But it's a bad thing really. You don't know where the money is going. It is an immensely criminal organised activity.

Which is part of the whole legalise/decriminalise point really... seperating that from organised crime. Who wants to be funding the people who are shooting our lads in the forces? It's serious buisness.

I hate Cannabis, I well never accept that vile insidious drug being legalised, I've watched it destroy and continue to destroy some peoples minds and well being, yes I have no doubt it has some medical properties, most drugs do, but to allow a drug like this to be legalised would be madness, people often say "well look at alcohol hurp derp", but do you honestly think alcohol would be legalised if it was introduced into society today?, also people like to mention the 60s a lot and how everybody smoked it and chill and be mellow, but the strength of cannabis today is considerably higher than it was back then, people wanted to mellow in the 60's, today people want to get off their head with a joint, I know people that choose it over prescribed medication for self treatment of depression but they have only deteriorated on it, it gets to the state where they can't cope with even mundane tasks or low level stress without being stoned.

It's ridiculous when the staunchly pro crowd completely deny ANY possibility of harm, and refuse to get into any productive dialogue...

To that I say: Prove it's harmful.

Smoking anything will be harmful, as your lungs don't like smoke. But with the likes of Vaporisers becoming more and more popular, users can do it harm-free.

The judge doesn't decide. The jury does...
Was it crown court then? Meh, even worse, the general public are even more ignorant than the judges! :)

Why is it only legitimate to look at it from the perspective you are - that he's a poor innocent man, just growing for himself. Whilst it's illegitimate/COMPLETELY IMPOSSIBLE that he was growing substantial quantities for sale?
Because I know that if he was his sentance would have been a LOT worse if that was the case. Plus I know that the ammount he would get off that in a small inside grow would be just enough to give the man an Ounce or two a week, which is just the right ammount for someone who is taking a lot of it to control pain.

Why? Because I'm not ignorant to the whole affair, that's why :(

Still, the CPS (I'm guessing, as we still haven't been furnished with a full source) proved, beyond a reasonable doubt, that he had enough to sell/was selling for profit/whatever.

no because they only count plants they dont care if they are kept in a constant vegative state and never grow a single bud.

it could be an almost dead twig of a cannabis plant with no leaves at all and to them its some monster growing 100million ounces
