Afternoon all,

simple question really, are their many big differences between the current range of referrence 680's available? I had been holding out for an EVGA version however their out of stock and no one seems to know when their due.

Also, theirs quite a difference in price for the referrence cars which I find strange, I'd of thought they would all be reasonably similar in price.

Should I hold out and wait for the EVGA card or just buy the OCUK 'value' card?

In reference cards, I believe all that is different, is the name stuck on the card. I chose EVGA purely on warranty but there are many good manafacturers with great warranties also.

I got the OCUK one and it's an inno3D, which isn't neccessarily a bad thing - free gaming mouse mat in the box too

only advantage to EVGA is the longer warranty but as I plan on not keeping this card for even 2 years it's not really an issue for me

as gregster says, in terms of noise / temps /overclocking etc. the reference cards are only different in the sticker on the box / card

thanks for the info. So are the pricing fluctuations based purely on the warranty terms or something then? I find it odd that EVGA can be priced at 429 but a gainwards reerence card is 459 - £30 different for a different coloured box and potentially different warranty terms?

Madness!!

Anyone know when OCUK are likely to get some reference EVGA 680s in, I have money to drop as soon as their in stock :)

gainward is the "premium" brand for Pallit - so everything from Gainward is 10-20% more than their Pallit equivalent just because, even though they are all made in the same factory and have the same warranty period / terms and the same shocking inability to overclock in my bitter experience

I would phone OcUK and ask as Gibbo has pointed out that stock is pre ordered of the 680's and that is why you see none in stock. Basically as soon as they get a shipment, they are sent straight out.

You can pre order though but when stock is due, Gibbo or helpline will need to tell you that.
