Who here owns a VXR

How do you go from being decided on a focus ST to wanting a VXR because some sellers messed you about?

Because i was sick of waiting for a new car and the insurance for me to drive the mini ran out on the 18th.

The VXR still ticked all the boxes, in fact 1 extra over the ST. Not common, tick! It has great MPG for what it is, very comfy to drive for me, rapid and not predictable. It gives me the fun i require whilst still being good for town driving, shopping, schools runs, fitting the kids bike/scooter in the back with a big boot.

The Focus would have been the number 1 choice at first because of coming from a Fiesta ST, reliability and another big factor was everyone here recommended i go for the ST. I wasn't too fussed in what i got to be honest though. Yes it was impulse but it paid off in the end, as i am very happy with it :)

Locking wheel nut key finally sourced. Vauxhall garage = useless, trader on vxr club = win.

Also what's in the big brown box :) :

You're driving too slow then ;)

I had the same mods on mine and it understeered when pushing on.

If you could see the edges of my rear tyres you would know im not driving slow ;)

I tend to get a little oversteer more than understeer tho,

"awaits request for evidence" :D

Had the Astra for over 6 years now, still enjoy it. See no reason to change it apart from an M Car/Porsche upgrade if it ever happens. Happy to run it for many more years otherwise.

Only issues have been a cracked front brake pad after standing for a week during that cold winter and a snapped front spring ( more down to our driveway approach/exit - other cars had the same issue ). It does like front tyres though.

Hope your ownership is as trouble free, no reason why it wont be.
