amd Catalyst drivers 12.4 out

My display drivers are also crashing on standby with 12.3 now as well. I had no issues at all before installing the 12.4 drivers..

Hi Moogleys, the exact same thing is happening to me.

VTX3D 7970 and Yamakasi Catleap monitor. Will try a system restore and if that fails a reformat I think.

Thought my monitor was on the fritz!

It's something to do with the monitor and driver. I have my screen set to sleep after 10 mins, If it goes to sleep it will crash the display driver when I wake it up even if the pc is still on.

I had eliminated the problem with a fresh install and the 12.3 drivers. But upgrading to 12.4 has brought it back even when uninstalling and using 12.3 again it still does it. It's really annoying and must be something to do with the dual link as when I plug my old 1080p screen back in it is fine.

Ok just removed 12.4 and used driversweep to mop up any leftovers. Re-started and installed a standard VGA driver then the 12.3 drivers and all is ok again. Sleep works fine now and the monitor happily goes in to standby and on again without crashing the driver...

Will skip 12.4 I think...

Like I said previously AMD drivers failing is user error 95% of the time !

Absolutely nothing wrong with the drivers in 5-6 years of using ATI/AMD for me and others I know !

Same here, never had a problem since the x1800, x1900XT, 2900XT, 3000, 4850 crossfire, 5870 and now 6970 crossfire, never had a problem, as you say, its down to user error, editing things they shouldnt etc...

How so? I've never edited a thing when it comes to drivers because I know damn all about them yet I've had plenty problems with CrossFire. Poor performance. But thats not been since early 2011 to June. Then BF3 brought all that back.

However, these drivers fixed the down clocking of the second 5870 when Windows loads versus 12.3. And Karkand runs flawlessly. Constant 65fps. However, there's another big map that is a tad flaky on performance... Kharg Island? bright desert, lots of big orange cranes? next to unfinished buildings and aircraft carriers in the distance...

Strange fps from looking down from the buildings with no action, but not from the aircraft carriers as you take the little boat out and make your way to land as everything is in sight. I had this problem with Karkand but AMD fixed it. Hmm...

System working fine with 12.3 but issues with 12.4 and no other changes.

I don't use driver sweeper just un-install previous driver and install the new one. Always worked before.

Was using a 570GTX previously and an 5870 before that. Fresh install of Win7 X64 when I jump red to green camp as well.

Driver Heaven/ Guru3D forums are reporting similar issues, black screen at boot and loosing display when monitor sleeps. Also on my setup the monitor "blinks" for a second every now and again which doesn't happen with the 12.3's....

with the 12.4 drivers, my system takes much longer to boot and MUCH MUCH longer to shut down.

definitely something up with the 12.4 drivers as it does the same with my 1080 screen so that rules out my dual link idea.

Once again everything works fine with 12.3..

gota love ATI drivers,

Game wise I'm good, but for windows etc poor.

Sleep mode hit and miss.

Zero core none existent

Crossfire a complete failure after cat 12.2

690 looking for likely for me tbh.

Its not all user error, sometimes it is the drivers and some people just have an uncommon set-up that slips through the bug net.

And you have to into account that on those cards they have had plenty of time to perfect the drivers, the 7xxx is from scratch.

I love how some people always go on blaming user error as if installing drivers requires a scientist. Then on some other forums it's like following a recipe to bake a cake. Some people make things harder than what it needs to be. They go on like it's 1998.

Where can I download 12.2 driver then? It's not on AMD website anymore.
I have just uninstalled AMD drivers, and guess what - eyefinity screen still works :D

Haha AMD is so retarded.

No problems for me. Just installed my second 7970 tonight and away I went. BF3 plays really well, even witcher 2 seems ok (suprised?!) Skyrim wont load but I dont think thats the drivers fault, its been a pain for me since release.
