The misses signed up to both today on free trials to try them, apparently Love Film had a much larger collection. Netflix didn't have the likes of Iron Man 1+2, the hulk etc (Pre Avengers warm up before I see it you see. :D )

So i'd go Love Film, but both have free 1 month trials so use both then cancel the worst one to you.

It would appear that Lovefilm have a slightly better collection than Netflix. But I would still probably prefer Netflix. They have a simple, and easy to use interface. Once Netflix gets a better collection (Which they are doing so, as far as I'm aware), they'll definitely be on top.

Netflix has a larger library than the included in package LoveFilm deal, better quality too.

But love film has blu-ray and you're not going to get better quality from anything else. Best take out the trial on both and see which you end up using more.

Netflix at the moment because it streams in HD and the audio quality is perfect and for £5.99 is bargain.

Lovefilm was so poor on PS3, low audio quality and poor picture quality too. The only thing Lovefilm had was actual discs but that was for £10 more than Netflix

Both have rubbish catalogs imo tho its not really their own fault.

Netflix has a solid platform, a decent android app and from what I've seen so far much better "HD" quality - aside from the colors being a bit "crunched"* (which you can sort out with a good projector or TV output if they have image AI or similiar) the image is a lot more detailed/sharper and the sound quality also sharper.

Theres easily enough content on netflix to justify the price aslong as they keep adding new content at a steady rate but given the platform they have I'd happily pay a lot more if they could get hold of newer stuff quicker :|

* It probably won't bother most people and it gives them better ability to deliver HD content with more efficent bandwidth useage but its something I notice personally.

The streaming quality is still rubbish on both of them, so neither :(

Pancake!

US Netflix all the way, massive collection. HD streaming is top dollah!

bledd, what issues do you have with Netflix streaming? HD kicks in about 1min into the stream for me and is rock solid till the end. What speed is your connection?

^^ HD kicks in about 2 seconds in for me on PC and about 20-30 seconds in on mobile on netflix (galaxy note + wifi works really nicely with the netflix app) and other than that the colors are crunched a bit I can't fault the quality - crisp and sharp detail, whites are a little off white and dark areas are a bit black but that can be offset somewhat by image enhancement settings - my projectors "AI" functions seem to work very nicely for once to sort it.

Netflix (iPad/AppleTV2/iPhone/PC) by a milestone. Their streaming algorithm is way more advanced over the rubbish that LF pounds out. US Netflix's catalogue alone is just astonishing. Had a complete nightmare trying to leave LF and doing a search on the net reveals I am not alone. They still pester me weekly to return. Shameful really.

The quality.

Streams are stable and rock solid as you say, but the bad quality isn't worth paying for.

Unless I'm just choosing bad examples?

I tested Saw 7 and it looked poor in 'hd' setting. I've still got 28 days trial left, so please tell me which films to test :)
