Jon olssons new daily - Sexy Audi R8 content

I'm not disputing the R8 looks good, I just cant see the point of it.

as Nath has pointed out, an RS6 would be a more viable alternative and a more likely candidate than an RS4 to someone with an R8 budget.

you guys cant seriously be telling me that you think that winging a roof box on the roof of a car like this looks good?

sure its removable but you would take it off for the photoshoot :confused:

Of course he's right, and RS6 is more viable. But the fact he has chosen to not be a run of the mill guy, I give him credit. Put a lambo and and RS6 infront of me, I'm going to pick the gallardo!! Regardless of them both having the same engine etc. etc. It's a supercar! And the fact he's got a tailer made roof box to sit on top (which is removable). I just think it's awesome.

Why does every car have to fit a purpose? If you have the money, go wild!
 
Met Jon quite a few times, on and off the slope, still no idea how he manages to earn so much more than other arguably better skiiers but can't fault the guy for his attitude, generosity and awesome skiing ability.

oh and his awesome taste in cars ;)

It's got a tricky 4 wheel drive system so shouldn't be too bad.

I drove my DB9 up to Val d'isere a few weeks ago and survived - not a massive amount of snow on the roads mind you :)

If he had an RS6 there wouldn't be a thread on OcUK discussing his car...

I totally get it. Why put a roof box on an R8? Because nobody else has. Get something unique, use it daily, get people talking and get some press coverage off the back of it. Win win.

Although it looked far better before he put the wrap on it.

Maybe he didn't want an RS4 and RS6 so bought a supercar and created a hybrid of sorts :p

I took a db9 to Courchevel, utterly undriveable in anything other than very light slush, I'm amazed you got there if you used the AM sat nav ;):p

Why not?:confused: if i could drive an R8 to work everyday i would too. even if its not the most practical car in the world.
