Ivybridge worth it? From 2600k

Is yours one of the ES/Hong Kong retails? If so it may be worth selling it ands getting a proper retail chip as they seem better than those for sale before the actual release date.

Its a genuine UK retail version.

Ivybridge in majority of cases is only worth it for the likes of those who are upgrading from cpus such as Q6600, Phenom2 etc.

Anyone who is on sandybridge, nehalem, westmere are imo wasting money upgrading to ivybridge.

PCi-E3.0 support, but you have a P67 board so that wont work.

HD4000 GFX, but you have a P67 board so that wont work.


All in all, its a **** side step for you.

I thought about upgrading my i7 2600k too, but I think this thread has answered that.
