That's not the point. The roof box looks rubbish on what is otherwise a decent looking car.
Roof boxes look terrible on any car, the R8 is no exception simply because it is an R8

Yeah ok it makes it practical and I can totally understand its function, the point is that it totally ruins the aesthetic of the car, so why include it in the photoshoot?
The pictures and the car itself are good so it doesn't really need the gimmick in my opinion.

I'm sure if someone made a thread on here saying they are planning on purchasing an mx5 for fun at weekends and also towing a caravan occasionally, it would be met with far worse than my humble opinion within this thread.

Id take the car cos it's ****** lush but if I needed something practical Id get practical instead. Isn't Lambo making a SUV? That'd be more suited for him.

Pics of it got released the other day. It looks about as good as an R8 with a roof box, so you could be onto something!

It's completely not though is it? To say so is just narrow minded.
Scenario A: Intentional play boy and extreme sports ultramegastar Xgames multitime winner buys gorgeous supercar, makes it even more unique and eye catching then adds complete marmite mods to fit his job.
Scenario B: Buy a supercar and use it to take rubbish to the local tip?

Just a little bit different there I think.

To buy an RS6 avant would just be like all the other people at the resort who turn up in Avants, yes his might be faster but no one would really look twice, eg the point of all this.
 
So he's doing it just to have people look at him, is that the point?

There's words for that sort of thing, and none of them are very nice.

You can put a roof box on any car, that's the whole point of it.

Why does there seem to be some 'OcUK Approved Vehicle' List for them :confused::rolleyes::cool:

If I should put a roofbox on my DC2, is that unsuitable because it's a lightweight Type-R weighing ~1000kg? If I needed the extra storage space and a roofbox was a viable and sensible option then I would get one, rather than buying an Accord Type-R or an FD2.

Same with him and the R8. He has the car he wants (and what a car) and he puts a roofbox on as he needs the additional length to get his Ski's and some kit in whilst still having a sexual supercar. An RS6 might be a great load lugger with serious power, but the boot won't magically fit some Ski's in and he'll have to fold the seats down anyway. Faf almighty!!!
