How do you have Llama set up?

Could you post your rules you have set up? I might find some additions from your ideas :)

I currently use a low battery condition which turns off wifi and data until the battery is charged back up to at least 11%. I have a rule for entering 3 areas (cellid) which triggers wifi and disables data, airplane mode overnight as long as screen isn't on at the time (1am till 8am) and wifi off when it disconnects but it waits 1 minute and ensures there's no current connection then toggles data on.

Any other clever stuff I can make it do?

I have 3 main rule sets and a couple of sub-sets within:

Home -
When it connects to my Wifi at home it will change to 'home' mode which changes the profile to 'normal' if it is between 0600 and 2200.
It changes it to 'silent' between 2200 and 0600.
These run 7 days a week

Work -
It uses Cell ID's to see when I am at work (no Wifi here for trigger).
If I am within Work between 0700-1500 AND Mon-Fri then it changes profile to 'quiet'.
If I am within Work area between 1500-0700 AND Mon-Fri OR anytime Sat/Sun then it changes profile to 'normal' - This is so that I can pass through my work cell area without it going to silent when I am not actually at work

Music -
When I connect a headset - media volume is set to 8, Google Music program is started and the PLAY function is activated. This is so that, when I get into my car and plug my aux cable into the phone, it starts to play the music from where it stopped when I unplugged it. Means I don't have to manually go into my phone, start the program and press play every time

That is all. I try and avoid using Cell ID's to trigger events as the problem with Llama and other apps like this is that they are unable to monitor cell site changes when the phone screen is off as the phone prevents this to save power. The tasks are only activated when the screen comes on again i.e. I could be in work at 0800 on Tues and it will still be on 'normal' mode until I turn screen on then it jumps to work mode IF I have not activated screen since before entering the work area.

Wifi and timed events seem to work fine. I leave Wifi turned on all the time as, in my experience, it doesn't affect battery life on my phone... At least it never has for the 2 years I have had it (HTC Desire). Unfortunately there is no Wifi at work :(

My Wifi rule doesn't appear to work, as it relies on the cellid to turn it on, but as it's in a 'disconnected' state it turns it back off again.

Remove the task that turns off WiFi when it disconnects and replace it with a rule to switch off WiFi when you are not within a certain location determined by cell id and back on when within this area. This means that it will continue to poll and not turn off if it doesn't connect and still within the set area.

IF within <area> switch on WiFi
IF Outwith <area> switch off WiFi

<area> = an area you have setup according to cell Id

I was trying to avoid using cellid as they cover a rather large area here.

Depends where you are TBH. An area with a lot of cells normally have smaller areas that are covered by each sector before the phone is handed off to another. I also try to avoid cell ids on Llama but there may not be a choice for your WiFi rule.

I just leave my WiFi on all the time so I dont need to worry.... Doesn't seem to affect battery TBH.

Downloaded this the other day on my one X and i have to say what an awesome little apps it is and best of all its free.

At the moment i have my rules set as follows

When headphones plugged play media player ie mp3s
When headphones unplugged stop media player ie mp3s

So far those 2 rules work perfectly fine.

I also have my wifi to switch off when i leave my home and when i enter my home, it switches back on, also both rules tell my phone to go into vibrate mode...not really sure if this is working as i only set it up last night although im at work now and the Wifi did turn itself off. Will check to see if the Wifi will turn itself back on.

So far i let it learn all the cell ids around my home last night. Now im at work im letting it learn the cell ids from my work area.

But i have 2 other rules set but i dont think they are working:confused:
One rule is when i enter work, my profile changes from vibrate to normal
The other rule is when i leave work, my profile changes from normal to vibrate.

But as far as i can see, it doesnt seem to be working ie my profile hasnt gone from vibrate to normal as its meant to do so.

Any ideas??

EDIT: seems to have kicked in ie the vibrate at work rule. Now to check later when i leave and when i get home to see if my rules work.

You will probably find that the actions won't fire if you are using Cell ID's to do it unless the phone screen is on. To save power, Android won't allow the app to do it. It's a PITA and is a well known bug for all apps that use Cell IDs for stuff. This is is the main reason I try and use times/days or WiFi connections to fire actions. I just leave my WiFi on all the time. I have yet to see it impact battery life in any real form.

You should monitor the "Recent" tab within the app for a few days as, occasionally, your phone will connect to a Cell ID that it may not have learnt previously. Easy way to see this is an "unknown" Cell ID which has (for your example) a "Work" Cell ID either side of it yet you didn't ever leave work.
