Hello

I have a p5q Deluxe mobo with an e7400 cpu. I believe its time for me to upgrade, but i would like to use my old scythe ninja 2 if possible. Is it possible to use it in the new mobos?

Can't find much info on the net. I really love it and it does it's job. I used it with a c2d e4300 which oc'd to 3.4 Ghz and sound less, while the stock cooler could go till 3Ghz and the volume was as if an aircraft was constantly taking off, without mentioning the degrees)

You would need to get hold of mounting kit for that particular board, you might be able to get some info from Scythe if you email their technical support dept.

What system we you looking to upgrade to, as some boards have mount holes to allow you to use socket 775 coolers.

Silly RJC :)

Well so far it works nicely on the e7400 and the asus board.

I was thinking should I go for an IB upgrade even though i was expecting a bit more to be honest. I think i can wait another year i suppose but i have the ich there telling me your pc is too old! And i have a Geforce 470 on it and feels as if the cpu is bottlenecking it.

I just didnt want to change to another cooling device since i am already happy with what i have but as i can see IB can get hotter that SB. Hmmm...
