ADSL2+ Wireless Modem Router Needed

I have to be the nay sayer on the Billion, it's a nice router but it's QOS handling is poor so if you need qos ie combine streaming and gaming there are better options.

I have a netgear 3700 v2 loaded with gargoyle, funnily enough plugged into a netgear 834 (set up as modem only). Whole family can be streaming and I still get stable pings which wasn't occurring when I had the billion.

I sold my billion but I noticed one gargoyle user had set his billion up to be the gateway to a with gargoyle to handle the routing :)

Not sure how you configured yours but mine handles Streaming, VoIP, gaming and general web exactly how I tell it to. It's not QoS if it's internet traffic, that's bandwidth limiting.
Consumer ADSL lines have no support for QoS.

Very good article on QOS by Gargoyles QOS developer, specifically

Statement: QoS cannot control the download speed because the router cannot stop data from coming in the WAN link.

Rebuttal: False my friend. It can and does.

My issue is I have a number of users on my network that stream and when this was occuring the line was maxing out causing my ping to degrade to the point of not being useable. I got the Billion on recommendations from this forum but found that whilst it isn't a bad router it has no QOS to speak of (the Billion Whirlpool forums advised me to try Gargoyle) If QOS is not important then their are other features which makes Gargoyle an excellent router but for me it's USP is its QOS handling on ADSL

Opted for the DG834GT For the time being. £25 preflashed with DGTeam FW.

Year warrenty.

The Billion contains the BCM5358 Chip i think and the DGT834GT Uses the 5348.

Plus my ISP uses Broadcom too which should help!
