CM-690 II Lite or Fractal Design R2?

I have no idea about the R2, however as long as the "Lite" version is the same as the normal (just without the HDD top part, the stock cooling fans are not the best. However, I have just replaced mine with 4 Fractal Design fans and a MASSIVE improvement. I think you can get around 9/10 fans in there.

Cable management is great too, lots of room behind the motherboard tray to organise your cables. So yea, the 690 gets my vote.

for cable management the fractal, for cooling the coolermaster :)

and yes the fractal has front panel hd audio.

There's nothing wrong with cable management in the CM either way, it's a great case... i'd go as far as to say the best available at the minute when you factor in price.

Cooling - Coolermaster

Cable management + Looks/tidyness - Fractal

I actually think the CM-690 looks a lot more tidy than the Fractal. I only have a black optical drive in mine, no fan control and it looks very slick. However, I think that is a matter of opinion.

Having built a system in both, I'd have to say that I was more impressed by the CM-690 overall, but that the R2 has better cable management.

I'm impressed with both the cable management and cooling in the R2, the CM-690 came out just after I bought my R2 otherwise I may have got one of those...

They're both good cases, I do prefer the look of the R2 though. If you search through this forum there are several posts (including mine) that show the cable management and cooling inside of both cases.

Rig in Sig :)

Thanks for the comments people. From the MM i'm collecting a 'like new' R2 for £65. I'm willing to sacrifice a little cooling performance for the better looks (imo obv) and cable management of the R2. Obviously as long as the cooling performance is not dire then i'll be happy with it.
I'll start a new thread later on, asking about placement of fans, push/pull, etc.

yup
watched CM video and clearly has that which I really like. Only problem is that (in compare to Fractal Design ARC or Corsair 550D for example suppose to be noisier)
