**GTX 690 NOW AVAILABLE AT OcUK!!**

Memory is 2 x 2Gb (so still a 2Gb frame buffer, unless I am missing something ?). Might be limiting for multiscreen setups at high res and AA etc. Just my 2 pennyworth - as thats about all I have to spend at the moment I am just an interested bystander !

nvidia u greedy folks

Buy them then, this card is for and I quote Hexus.

Let's cut right to the chase, the GeForce GTX 690 4GB graphics card is aimed at a small band of computer users identified as ultra-enthusiasts. These people care about having the shiniest of technology and possess the inclination and ability to pay for it.

AMD will counter it easily with a card that costs <£700 and gives 90% the performance.

I think beating the performance of the 690 may be beyond them, given how power efficient it is, but they can certainly produce a competitive product.

I think the 7990 will be a £599 card MAX.

The funny thing is this is a complete turnaround. After 7970 launch Nvidia were cackling to themselves when they realised they could sell their GK104 for the same price as 7970.

AMD must have been dreading the dual Kepler as they knew they wouldn't be able to match it's performance due to the power constraints they had, now it is dawning on them they will actually have a far better product as they can charge £700 for a card that is close to the 690

Some will still sell, but to the average person this obviously quite a silly price. It's up there with gold and diamond encrusted phones, not quite as much but the same mind set.

If they get two full 7970 cores all be it tweaked on one card, it shouldn't be far off at all, maybe even faster in same games.

£300 cheaper in the states. Even with VAT and postage it's becoming more and more tempting to import components.

Have there been any official announcements regarding the 7990 then? Lets not forget OCUK have slapped on a £30 premium on most of the cards which makes them worse but I'm seeing them for 840 > 860 is the average... ish
