***The Official Samsung Galaxy S III Thread***

So the general consensus here barring a few is that HTC has hit a home run with the One X and One S phones??..from what im reading, it seems pretty much so.

EDIT: Lol my bro in Canada has just whatsapp'd me to say hes getting his One X tomo, he wasnt impressed by the S3 one single bit...in fact he went as far to say that the Galaxy Nexus hes using at the moment is a better looking phone.

I honestly still cant massively see why I should upgrade from my N9. Im quite shocked.

I wont buy an HTC ever again, I dont like iOS, the SIII is okish, Windows Phone 7.5 isnt good enough yet. The upcoming Sony maybe?

I can't believe they haven't incorporated a notification LED.

They must have seen how well it was received on the Nexus?

Think they could have packaged it better with soft buttons too.

Yes, I don't think there would even be a question about it if they had expandable storage. Generally though, the 25GB available is fine. 13GB is a bit low. Obviously they are 32/16 but you only have 25/13~ available for use.

The SIII dimensions are:

136.6 x 70.6 x 8.6mm

One X:

134.4 x 69.9 x 8.9 mm

So it's slightly larger (but so is the screen).

Indeed, I thought an LED would be a dead cert.

The spec mentions an RGB light in the sensor setup?

The 64GB one will be quite a bit more than £470 I think.

The X and S lag is even better than the Nexus though, it's really something. I imagine the S3 will be the same, was hard to tell from the demo's as they kept using the burst picture mode.

The camera sensor backlight thing sounds interesting, I want to see samples of the camera in low light.

I'm pretty much sold on the S3 though, 32 or 64GB version, the black one though (I won't call it blue because it looks more black than blue :p).

Unless there's something compellingly better on the One X but so far I don't think there is anything, on the contrary the one x is crippled with limited storage expansion which is the major, major sore point.

You did say a while ago that you weren't bothered about storage, hence why I didn't think it mattered too much!

See the blue one here, some good pictures of what it looks like 'properly' - http://www.gsmarena.com/the_beast_released_samsung_galaxy_siii_is_now_here-news-4200.php

It has a sort of scratched look. I'd have to see it first.

mobilephonereviewuk says the One X is 32GB, that sounds like more than enough for me (i've never even used the 8GB on my Samsung Galaxy S).

So ignoring the fact that i won't be able to add more storage if needed, One X is easily the best choice?

In my opinion, yes. Absolutely.

Thats annoying, any downside to using a micro sim.

Absolutely not, it just means you need to get one.
