Finally finished reading all of this, I think it's a good solid phone but a bit of a shame they couldn't set a new bar on the hardware, partially as the One X is pretty damn good as it is
Looks wise I think it's ok, I quite like the front, I like that the camera doesn't appear to jut out much at all, and the speaker won't be covered by my finger like the SGS2, but the back being an expanse of seemingly glossy plastic is a bit meh, but I'd need to actually see/hold it in the flesh to be sure.
The rest of it is far too early to really say, but it seems likely that battery life will beat the One X fairly comfortably (probably not the One S though) and it will have performance to at least match if not beat both the One X and S (more so on the GPU side).
I think performance does still matter if looking long term, from reports there are games out now that don't run all that amazingly on the Tegra 3, let alone in 2 years time, and that's not even thinking of any potential features of Android by which time we'll be on 'K' and looking forward to the next release...
Comparing it to the One X I personally would go for the SGS3 (from a pre-One X/S phone, obviously no point side-grading), the One X has the screen and possibly design (not overly impressed personally, by either phone) whilst the SGS3 has the SOC, bigger battery/better battery life, expandable storage, and wireless charging.
On the final bit, wireless charging, it's really not that slow, and it is awesome. I've got it for my HP Touchpad and I love it, didn't think I would either but they were selling off the touchstones cheap so I thought why not

This is actually a big selling point for me...
