Hi,

My dad got a H80 cooler to go with his shiny Ivybridge but we've had some trouble with it because the fans won't run!

Both fans were plugged into the waterblock as indicated on the rather primitive instructions provided in the box. In addition I connected the molex plug to the PSU but the cables popped out!

Popped them back in and turned it all on for a puff of smoke to rise from the waterblock and I rapidly turned it off - not tried much since but failing to see what I've done wrong! Any ideas?

Still no activity from the fans though!

A puff of smoke doesn't sound good, Test the fan by its-self first and see if the fan is faulty. Also try push start the fan manually

Hmm Smoke.. well corsair have good help services.. contact them and get it replaced.. or contact ocuk

Hi,the fans won't run! In addition I connected the molex plug to the PSU but the cables popped out!

This I guess is a quite common problem. I just bought a H80. The molex pins popped out and I could only get one fan to work. The pump also appeared dead.

I returned it and went with the tried and tested Megahalems. Very happy now.

I've just returned my new one. Check the corsair forums, seems you are lucky to get one that works well.

Did you also plug the 3 pin fan cable from the pump unit onto your mobo cpu header? It's not clear from your post.
