No I wouldn't. It's listed as compatible on the MSI website. Would be very strange for it not to be. Even if it wasn't it should probably post or show an error message on the LED screen.

try a different cpu if you can also you could try to get the bios update to see if it will help. http://www.msi.com/product/mb/Z77A-GD65.html

I've tried a i2500k and my i2550k. It won't post, so I never see a bios screen.

i would say it has got to be your board if it is not posting on both CPUs
