Official Avengers Tread ere

Saw the film today and thought it was great. Like many people in this thread I thought Captain America's role in the film wasn't that great.

Almost all the fight scenes he is in seem to end up with him on the floor. The Black Widow by comparison seems to have it fairly easy in most of her fights. I think they should have switched the Black Widow and Captain America's roles in the final battle. He could have easily been on the back of one of those sled things taking out a few others on his way up to the top of the tower. Then having him destroy the portal device, possibly using the edge of his shield. Would have been far more appropriate for Cap in my opinion.
I believe that Captain America 2 will be a lot better than the first. We have all the back story out of the way and the possibility of a team up with hawkeye against foes in a similar power level (a new Hydra for example) :)

One possible story that would be expected is Cap's best friend Bucky Barnes coming back as the Winter Soldier. They already had it set up just incase.

Another couple of friends have decided that they want to see it tomorrow. Guess I'll have to watch it a 2nd time then :)

Finally managed to seeing last night, cinema was packed for the 10pm showing.

Absolutely loved it, even the missus loved it as well. For me I thought the Hulk stole the show...was a bit worried having Ruffalo in the role but he did a superb job...loved it when he smashed looking loki all over the place and called a puny god...absolutely brilliant:D

Thought Thor and Ironman were brilliant along with Agent Coulson, shame they killed him off though :/...didn't think much of Capt America in all honesty, even his movie last yr was very meh.

Black widow and Hawkshead were a complete waste of space. The movie for me would have been better without them in all honesty..

But I'd definitely give it a 8/10....lost marks for Scarlet and Renner ie black widow and hawkeye.

Oh if anyone's going to see it, make sure you stay behind as there's a bit more after the first set of credits lol...had some guy shouting for people to stay behind lol.

Hope there's a sequel, pretty sure the little spoiler at the end ensures a sequel but seriously get rid of Scarlett and Renner.

Hawkeye is actually an extremely capable opponent. With his arrows he can shoot across huge distances. Also he has incredible eye-sight.

The reason why he was placed at the top of the building was because he is able to hit things at incredible range and see things that the other Avengers can't.

The only part where I saw him "do his thing" was when he shot down an alien vehicle which was traveling at high speed, without looking at it.

The problem is that they dumbed him down a little, mainly because the enemies were too weak. If they had a more powerful enemy then they could've had him really hammer those arrows at the enemy.

Obviously, Thor, Iron Man and Hulk are the big hitters, so don't expect Hawkeye, Black Widow or Captain America to ever compete against them.

Hopefully, in the next movie, the enemy will be significantly more powerful. I want to see Hulk pushed to a point where he must get stronger to defeat an opponent - those alien soldiers were going down far too easily.

Really enjoyed it, Joss Wheden absolutely delivered.

In the sequel I'd love to see hulk go full rage and possibly deafeat the ''evil dude'' but then start going after the rest of the avengers.

Not possible as even a "world war" hulk would not be powerful enough. it would probably take all of the Avengers and some more as Thanos is never fully defeated. He is the avatar of death and invulnerable.

He's more than significant that's for sure. :D

Hopefully they will do the next movie right and portray some of the ridiculousness that will ensue for the Avengers or the whole Earth for that matter.

...unless they tone down the power of Thanos.
Also, do remember that The Avengers don't need to kill/defeat Thanos...they just have divert him away from Earth. Much like The Fantastic Four and the Silver Surfer diverted Galactus away from Earth.

Another thing to consider is that just as we were all expecting the super advanced/powerrful Skrulls in Avengers 1, Avengers 2 may give us somebody other than Thanos (ie. that may not be Thanos, just as the invading army in Avengers 1, wasn't The Skrulls).

The beauty of the comic book is that they can invent, twist and power up/down the enemy as and how they wish. They just need to get the balance right.

I Thought it was confirmed as Thanos?

I was under the impression that the public merely put 1+1 together and came up with Thanos.

As far as I know, the makers of the movie have not confirmed that it was Thanos. And bearing in mind that Avengers 2 is probably going to be released in 3-5 years, it would be very premature for movie studios to be confirming that Thanos will be the villain in Avengers 2. Don't you think?

Have you not seen him in the film? Thanos has quite a distinctive chin - whatever happens he will be pulling the strings in the 2nd film, but I agree that doesnt mean he has to feature in it, but then why show him at the end of the film as a teaser in the first place then?

ps3ud0

Not to forget the "would be to court death" line.

It is clearly obvious there.
