My BMW F10 Experience, FOX will love this!

Did I seriously just see 275 rears on a 520d.

Of course you did, its the same wheel/tyre size as standard across the M Sport range, just like you'd find 265 rears on an 18 inch fitted E39 520i Sport 10 years ago. The wider rears are largely a cosmetic thing anyway.

Nice writeup Gibbo - the standard spec of the F10 is excellent and much of the things you've listed are standard fit across the range - inc USB etc. You had Business Nav too, there is a full widescreen Pro nav available above this.

i may be wrong, but i remember the screen being wider in the F10 i sat in, sure it was about 10.2" widescreen format, that looks more 4:3 and so makes me think it has business nav rather than professional? Therefore, i think that screen may be standard, with the widescreen being optional for pro nav. I'm sure i'll be corrected on that lol.

You are right. The screen is standard fit, the navigation is indeed optional but even without it you get the screen in the photo. The pro nav has a bigger, higher res screen.

In other news, i noticed today, that the new F30 3 series come in 4wd after seeing 2 335i X drives today. I'm surprised they were kept to the continent before now tbh, and it's a good move to introduce them here by BMW.

There is still no UK Xdrive 3 Series. No idea what you saw, imports perhaps? But unusual to see two of them, perhaps you were mistaken.

My step dad was saying the other day that he seemed to think they were bringing the Xdrive ones out later in the year over here for the first time, no idea if he's right though.

Just had a nose around and seen a few articles saying it's been confirmed for later in the year, so could well be the case.

When you push them really hard on bumpy roads they fall apart a bit, that car I think has 18's and also non run flats (?) but I can confirm they do understeer a bit when you start to get them on the edge, might be the heavier engine in the 530d that makes that a little more obvious. Great cars though, love mine to bits but the 530d is an improvement on the 520d, come drive mine if you want.

Did not realise you had one mate, what spec is it and where is your thread?

Am I right about the DSC modes?

I saw exactly that, a 12 plate 335i and on the side the badge said X-drive, maybe it was import, i'm 100% certain it was X-drive as i remember thinking oh, that's good that they have started making them for this country, the 2nd may have been a mistake, i dunno, like you say, if they are not available in this country yet, then it is strange.

Interested to read about the auto box, anyone know if it's the same engine and box combo on the 120d M Sport?

On the F20? I don't think it is.
There are two auto options on the new 1 Series. A 7 speed and an 8 speed sport option. The 8 speed sport auto box has paddles behind the steering wheel to change gear.

The 8 speed box is the same ZF 8HP series transmission in both cars, but I think the one in the F10 520d is the uprated 8HP45 whereas the 1 Series has the 8HP30.

The engine is, obviously, the same.

No idea where your idea about a 7 speed box comes from? The only 7 speed box BMW offer is the DCT and thats not an automatic nor available in the F20.

All we've seen so far is magazine articles proclaiming they are absolutely definately totally coming here. They've been saying this for years now and there is still no sign of them nor any official announcement. There is, however, the official announcement that the xDrive only M550d is not coming to the UK, adding credibility to the idea that the UK still isn't receiving xDrive models.

I'd imagine what you saw was perhaps a US spec car from somebody on a US military base.
