hi guys im putting my new system together comprising of a gigabyte z77 -ud5 board , i7 ivybridge , i was goin to use my old prolimatech rev.b with 2 fans (push n pull) , ive had it on my old x58 board and has been great , howvwer im now lookin at the new Arctic Cooling Freezer i30 and had rave reviews of custompc and rate it better than the bequiet dark pro and is a little over £30 , has anyone bought this new cooler and what are your thoughts of useing it instead over the prolimatech ? or if you have any better recomendations please dont hesitate to say ! thanks in advance

If you are going for maximum overclocking the hell out of the CPU,then one would be better going for the best CPU water cooler due to the fact that the air cooling heatsinks/fans(Prolimatech SuperMega)for maxmum OC are getting far to big blocking ram slots, case width etc, etc.

The Megahelims should still be fine. I used the super mega on a pretty hot running i7 920 cpu, it's also a good cooler for ram clearance, unlike the dual tower coolers such as the silver arrow, nh-d14 or alpenfohn k2.

is there any particular one which you like ?

I swapped my supermega out for an Alpenfohn k2, excellent stock fans, very quiet compared to the akas vipers i had on the mega. Though youll need low profile ram.

With those, youd have issues with something like the k2. The megahelims should be fine though.

wot about the artic cooling freezer i30 ? mind think i will just stick with the megahelems ........the water cooling all in one coolers are quite expensive arent they and they arent that much cooler i dont think ...do you ?

It looks ok for a budget offering, but tbh id stick with the megahelims. Im not that keen on the all in one watercooling solutions, theyre expensive, the supplied fans arent great. Though they do have the advantage of taking up less space than air coolers.
