Guild Wars 2

In most MMO's the bosses are not static, just you want to keep them that way ;) They can actually move around, and often do when a raid is in the process of wiping.

Well to be pedantic yes they can move, I assumed his point was "will the raid bosses be static for the fight" rather than "will the raid bosses be glued to the ground static"

Sod :p:D:p

I was just checking out Tera on line today. It looks good, but is it in the same class as Guild Wars 2?

Do you mean in terms of quality? TERA is a very polished game, and is pretty high quality - better than AION and Rift, which are its closest comparisons, I suppose. 'Same class' as in same class of game? Nope, it's aimed at a different market and as such it's a different type of MMO, really.

Well yeah, all the Korean stuff is in there if you're that way inclined. GW2 had a surprisingly Asian style on its human characters as well - people were complaining a lot in the Forums. So it's a strange one. But just like in GW2 there are lots of races and options that don't go down the anime/Korean-influenced route.

Doubt I would last more than 1 minute on Tera, way too much anime for me. Guild Wars is pushing it with some of its influence from that genre.

They are different kinds of games, so one couldn't even answer that question to be honest.

Tera is quite polished, but it has been out in Korea or China (can't remember) for over a year already so has had a lot of work done on the original client. It's also been made by people who left NcSoft and were working on Lineage 3 so it's basically a Lineage3/Aion2 kind of game. It's not a bad game at all and i loved it during the early beta's but it quickly grew old once i realised the only thing making me play was the FPS aiming system which lost its effect after a while.

I am looking forward to GW2 a lot now, since playing the beta weekend i've lost interest in most my other games and just want it out. I am glad D3 is out in 9 days time as that will tide me over until then! :)

Yup i had crafting, have done in every game bar one that i've played. I liked it in SWTOR as you could do it while questing without standing around in town doing it and being bored.

I have to admit the crafting looks good in this, so i will give it a try and see if i like it though.

In a word ? No.

Tera looks great and it does a nice job of kidding you into thinking the combat is revolutionary but it all becomes extremely bland and boring far too quick.

I'm a big fan of eastern based MMo's but from playing in both the US and EU beta's I found I was logging in for 10-20mins then wanting to play something better.

That is how i felt, loved it when i first started got to around level 20. Then that was it logged in once or twice more for 5 or so minutes only to log out bored.

I hated the first dungeon aswell, felt like all the other eastern games and it was boring to be honest. I decided to get a refund as i thought D3 would be out close to it, glad i did as my prediction was right and i wouldn't have played it for very long.
