OOOO. Interesting!

This will be a good thing to witness. We will truly be able to see whether austerity is the right plan or not once Hollande starts doing his socialist ideas.

52% for Hollande, and 48% for Sarkozy. A very split France, I wonder if there will be any riots following this.

Something a news guy said is that it seems impossible for an incumbent leader to be reelected since the 2008 financial crisis.

I doubt there will be riots because it's the socialists who riot.

There will be riots when they are forced to realize there's no money for any of this stuff though.

Will be very interesting how Hollande now deals with Merkel as indications seem to point that he wants to renegotiate the recent EU treaty

Merkel won't want anything to do with it. Her and Sarkozy spent weeks and weeks getting their treaty sorted. Part of me feels the majority of voters will have just decided that they don't like the cuts and recession and just voted for the opposition regardless of what his polices were.

Indeed, the Greeks also don't want any more austerity and are voting today against the main stream party's. The 'alternatives' promise to get them out or renegotiate. Socialist ideals vs the real world round two. Ding Ding Ding.

Round 2? Socialism has never been tried.

Hollande wants France to go a different direction to Germany and looking at the Dutch taking a turn for the worse, the appetite for the then Germany and France leading the way is taking a turn. Germany still holds most of the money and everyone else is flagging round her. Will be interesting how this all pans out.

It is funny that you think the voting is legit, they make Sarkozy lose by a small margin for obvious reasons ;)

So how (and why) is this electoral fraud carried out?

Interesting times ahead for France I'd think - I don't know whether Mr Hollande will make a good or bad leader yet but it's a violent swing (at least in ideological terms) compared to Mr Sarkozy.

Lol.

Typical right wingers.

Blame socialism for poor fiscal regulation, excesses of greed in the finance sector & ignoring systemic risk.

Yeah, we got into the global financial crisis because of welfare payment for the poor.....:rolleyes::rolleyes:
