Hi all

I wish to extract some ideas/thoughts from your watercooling junkies

Plan;
1. X79 socket 2011 setup with 2 x 680s
2. Wish to run both on separate loops
3. 680s on one loop and CPU on another
4. Cosmos 2 case - the big heavy one
5. I wish to use 360 ran on top for GPUs
6. I wish to use 240 rad for CPU located at bottom
7. I would prefer front mounted bay res'

Questions;
1. Do I need a dual bay res for the GPUs for single for the CPUs
2. What pumps are best?
3. Is two loops overkill? Or needed for maximum overclocking?
4. Tube size? 1/2 or 3/8. What is the deal with barbs etc?

No lighting or nonsense needed.

Just ideas at present and will reshape depending on your feedback

Thanks all!!

You can choose pretty much any res you want
2. What pumps are best?
A D5 would be recommended for this loop
3. Is two loops overkill? Or needed for maximum overclocking?
yes, it is overkill. 2 loops have pretty much no advanages over single loops. Any difference you see will be minimal
4. Tube size? 1/2 or 3/8. What is the deal with barbs etc?

You need 2 fittings per component

With barbs, you can use, for example, 1/2 bars with /2tubing, but you'll need hose clamps or similar. Or, you can use 1/2 barbs with 7/16 tubing which means the tubing is smaller than the barb so you don't need clamps.

Compression fittings are the most leak proof, but more expensive and can be fiddly. You need to match the tubing size exactly to the compression size

Tubing, any tubing will do, there's very little real world difference between them. Choose which fittings you want, and decide tubing upon that

i know for a fact a d5 will be fine for cpu and 2 680 blocks :)

im running 2600k and 2x 570 gtx in my loop with the ek duel spin res and 1 x 240mm and 1 x 200mm rad and i have no problems what so ever! pc is running 4.7ghz oc on cpu and 823 / 2000mhz on the ram!

idel tems on cpu are 21 / 23 / 22 / 22 and on the gpu 21 / 19

Load temps on cpu are 49 / 57 / 52 / 53 and the gpus never go above 45!

cleeecooo spec'd my loop and so happy for it :D

oh and that res....

Muppet, have you got more pics?

How many fans do you have on your front 240?

What is your order for water? PUMP, RES, 240, CPU, 360, GPUS, PUMP? Or am I going mad?

only one i have to hand that shows the top rad on the 200mm fan. had to cut some of the mobo tray, top of the case and also had to cut some of the side pannel also (only part of the guide, you cant see it on the outside)

^ Thanks for the pic mate

So, what fittings/barbs etc do I need for this setup

RES -> PUMP -> GPUS -> 360 RAD AT TOP -> CPU -> 240 AT BOTTOM -> RES
