Hi there,

I'm looking for a case to house an i7 3770k build, it should fit a GTX 680 and provide adequate cooling for overclocks to 4.6GHz on the CPU.

The two cases I've been looking at are:
  • NZXT Phantom (Full tower)
  • Corsair 600T (Mid tower)

I don't really want a CoollerMaster HAF X case, i've used the 922 for my previous build and although i'm fairly sure it knocks both out of the park in temps, i would prefer a change.

Can anyone add any preferences over the two above, maybe someone here as experience with a similar overclock on one of them? I like the size of the smaller 600T, but I'm not sure how much cooler the system would run in the full sized Phantom. I'm also open to ideas toward other cases.

Thanks!

I still struggle to understand your love of that case stulid....

On phone, so not going to provide all the links, but, depending on budget:
Silverstone FT02, is the best case for air cooling, looks alright to.
Cm Haf x you've ruled out already... so I won't talk about it, but it is very good.
Cm storm trooper might be an idea though. Very good case, good airflow etc...
Silverstone Raven rv03 is better cooling wise than your suggestions as well....

The 600t looks good, but it looks better than it performs. It's not a bad case, but its not great either for air cooling. It's a solid middle ground case which looks nice...

The phantom, I'll go back to not understanding why anyone would buy the phantom over the Switch 810, except for price reasons. The Switch 810 is the better, newer version of the phantom.

Most cases will cope with your spec though so long as you have a decent CPU cooler...

The 680 is small (comparitively) and quiet and cool anyway...

Thanks for your comments,

My reasoning for the phantom over the switch is the positioning of the front ports. I can't deal with ports on the front, particularly USB, because i end up knocking them. A small issue indeed, but it's annoyed me on the HAF. I'll take a look at the others.

i dunno why people say this. my 600t has great performance. brill air cooling. better than my old antec 1200 with loads of fans

I'm not sayings its bad. Because it isn't, but there are better cases out there (performance wise)... It looks tons better than stuff like the CM (IMO).
