My Soon to be build

buying most of the stuff on amazon, and getting a couple of items dirt cheap of my uncle cause he recently upgrade, so it's a little cheaper, maybe by a couple of hundred

Mate as others said you should just get yourself the Z77 and be done with it. It will be plenty and then some for your gaming needs. Also I was in a similar dilemma a month ago considering X78 Sabertooth against the Z77 Sabertooth. From all accounts i was getting is that for gaming and even general use like video editing the Z77 IB is still plenty without spending a lot more for what wont be much difference. Sure the 2011 socket CPU looks a beast but the lower ones arent even as good as the good socket 1155 CPUs eg. http://www.anandtech.com/bench/Product/523?vs=551 Also bare in mind that is at stock speeds 3.6ghz v 3.5ghz, The IvyBridge will overlook much higher.

If i was you Id consider the Z77 Sabertooth with a 3770K. Oh and you definitely want an SSD as boot drive it's a no brainer when building a computer nowdays, prices have come down a fair bit. Mechanical HDD will give you a WEI score of 5.9 out of 7.9... Good SSD will get the full 7.9 score and that particular bottleneck will be no more. So if you change the X79 to Z77 that will free up a lot of cash for the SSD.. maybe the nice Intel one.

Hope my input helps as i said i was going to get the X79 but now im saving for the Z77 with the best CPU it can take. One thing i dont get is im also after the H100 cooler and on OcUK it is cheaper than the H80.. cheaper single rad to a double rad? Anyone can shed some light on this would be appreciated

:).

I think th H100 is on offer

yer, thanks Shaolin, I do take this into account, however I want the LGA2011 chipset because that way i can get the ivy-E and i really want to get a six core in the future for possible editing, and because i am an enthusiast.

so guys, any more specific comments on the build, as a reminder, by august it will be:
Motherboard: Asus Sabertooth X79
CPU: i7 3820 LGA2011 Chipset Quad core 3.6ghz stock (Want to overclock though)
RAM: Corsair Vengence ddr3 8gb quad channel (1600mhz i think, also will be going to 16gb next year)
GPU:Nvidia Gtx 680 (Hopefully they'll drop in price later in the year and i'll get two in sli second hand)
Storage: 1TB Western Digital Caviar Black 7200 RPM
PSU: Corsair 850 watt 4 rail powersupply (Gold AX850 I think)
CPU Cooler: Corsair H100
General cooling: Bunch of nice fans in the case
Case: Corsair 400R Mid-tower

Most of us here are too! :p Some are experts unlike myself. Yeah im still waiting (saving) myself and am very interested to see what IB-E will be like, if it's great i might do a U-turn. Though people are saying its not going to be much of an improvement like IB is to SB. Go for it if you got money to splash and really will be getting seriously into video editing, It's just that you could do essentially the same without spending a great deal more. It would be nice to have 12 cores on my meter but also it would be nice to have more money in my pocket for other things.

I tried anyways :D
