When you go over a whole number you get a bonus to your rating. So if you're at 2.99 and you get +0.01SR for a race you'll actually get about +0.5 and jump to 3.50. The reverse is true as well (you lose the bonus if you drop below 3).

Yes, that is your safety rating and as Borrish mentioned you get the jump when you approach a whole number.

Cheers guys that explains it. i wondered why in 1 race i lost - 66 that would explain it,, and also now why i got like +48

Tell me this is it a SR of 4.0 that i need to get out of rookies ? and also is there certain dates that u get promoted ( e.g on calander when the Season ends ) is that it ?

@joedeath332: You need an SR of 4.0 to get fasttracked (instant promotion) to the next licence. It's a lot easier to get out of the rookie class however since you only need to be above 3.0 when the rookie promotions happen which is every 4 weeks rather then the 12 for everyone else.

@arknor: Yes, you just wait for the grid button to time out. It'll then change to "missed start" which will let you start from the pits.

A SR of 3.0 is enough to get promoted, have a look at the calendar there are regular Rookie promotions. Once you are out of Rookie you only get promoted at the end of the season with a SR of over 3 and all the other requirements met.

A SR of 4.0 will get you promoted quicker, although I'm not 100% sure when that happens as I have never been there:)

Cheers Borrish , did i read before somewhere about having so much sr at a certain point means you can skip a license and go to the next one ?

Don't you guys have anything else to do?;)

Either I'm getting old or I'm playing too much, or perhaps as I fear both. Last week my ankles were feeling the pain from the pedals, after this weekend my elbow is in pain...

It's a bank holiday, so there's more time than usual to play for me and the game is offline.

Ooh, so I get back and there's an update, did anyone see the release notes before the forums went down?

Looks like you had a good weekend Steve :)

Really want to try LRP now, quite like it but know how evil it can be :p

eh up josh me old mate...

yeah had 12 races 8 great ones 4 rubbish ones, best been the wins(3) but bar that it was 2nd in the top split, worst was taking me and david unger out on t1 when we were battling for the lead...

LRP hmm im thinking of dropping it tbh mate...

heh, shame about the 4 :p

Just done 10 laps of LRP practice, I'm quite liking it, using just your baseline but without the fuel seems to work, 46.7 best, felt there was time to gain with practice/setup but my optimal was 'only' a 46.4 so not too bad...

One thing with the setup though, I feel like I want a bit more front end bite on initial turn in (particularly the uphill and the one after), but I'm really happy with the rear of the car on exit, any suggestions on what to play with to see what I like?
