Camping Newbies - Sky TV?

On a more serious note; you guys have something great to look forward to soon. A new range of computer hardware is coming out that will do everything your current hardware will do only a tiny bit faster at the cost of a couple hundred quid but it will revolutionise your lives in a way you could never imagine.

Erm, OK.

Well that 'couple of hundred quid' won't be spent on me sitting in a tent in the ****ing rain watching 'a bit of TV' before bed. And probably not trying to be sarcastic/false witty/angry/whateverthatis.

Funny that you're getting preachy about the outdoors when your bushcraft skills amount to plugging in your kettle.

I think what you like is staying somewhere inexpensive, as opposed to camping.
 
An electric camping kettle, why is that different to, well, a kettle kettle?
These camping shops must make a fortune selling stuff like this to odd people.

My camping kettle is a mess tin, cost about 50p and serves as my kettle, cooking pan, frying pan, plate, and water gathering utensile (or as you may know it, a camping tap)

Exactly, good point made. But least you can walk with chin high at your 35Mhz faster GPU (and not forgetting your extra 3fps).

Your solution to this is to bring Sky TV, rather than find somewhere different?

You stated that you had items with plugs on. You did not specify that you took them camping with you. I was merely requesting clarification. It is a shame that you are having to resort to insults and sarcasm when you really should have know better. But ho hum.

This is only my personal opinion but, when camping, I want to rely on as little electricity - and other mod cons - as is feasible. Water gets boiled on a fire which also provides heat until bedtime at which point other methods are used! Food is also cooked on the fire or a small gas burner we have. Entertainment comes through walking, conversation, books etc. Taking a mobile is unavoidable so I have a very basic one for the purpose, the battery of which lasts for a couple of weeks.

Smaller, generally cheaper to manufacture. Look dated and well, a bit rubbish. But they boil water.

I think we are getting the terms 'family camping around the sea-side' and 'duke of Edinburgh camping survival award' mixed up.

I'm surprised you don't live off wild berries and fish eyes instead of using FRYING PANS and PLATES which you would find at HOME!

Jeeesh, you might aswell just stay at home.

I've ready every post of this thread from the outset, it's been too amusing not too!

It was purely just an example, as indicated by my made up story, you could insert any tv show then. It doesn't change the fact that you would have to keep arseing about with all that equipment when in a tent.

Out of curiosity, would you even get a decent enough signal for Sky?
I have visions of you needing a dish the size of Jodrell Bank.

Re-read my post, where i say i use one mess tin for all the above, i cant carry all that you mentioned on my back.
And i am on about family camping, were just not the sort that spend hours deciding what to wear, or are too affraid to get a bit of dirt on us.
