Today i recieved my nice new shinny 3570k, msi gd43 z77 mobo, ocz agility 3 and a gelid cooler.

Now the problem starts, fitted everyhing together just fine :) plugged in my monitor, m&kb and started it up.

All the fans from my gfx to the psu are spinning but i have no post beep and signal to the monitor, so i plugs the monitor lead in to the mobo's dvi slot and still no signal.

I've done everything i can think of but nothing works.

Rest of my spec is 8gb kingston grey, 6870, samsung f3 and a ocz 600w modxtreme.

Will phone ocuk's support line tomorrow but i thought i'd post here first incase its a simple fix and saves me a phone call.

cheers.

A few things to do,

ClearCMOS.

Make sure the 4/8pin ATX near the CPU is plugged in?

You did remove the GFX card and plug into the motherboard?

Try one stick of RAM in all slots.

Tried all that, the mobo takes an 8 pin cpu connection but i even tried the 4 pin lead from my psu just incase.

Remove all the drives, so you are just trying to use (PSU/MOBO/CPU and one stick of RAM)

Maybe try building it outside of the case on a carboard box.

Right, built it out of the case with the components you mentioned and its still the same, so i've phoned ocuk and got me an rma number for the board and cpu.

I've built many pc's in the past but this is my first intel build and i aint to impressed, maybe i should have stuck to amd and got a buldozer chip :p

If the board is faulty would i have the option of going for a different make or will they send me another msi one??

So i rma'd the cpu and mobo, ocuk did their tests and both are working fine and i should get em back tomorrow, so what could be the problem as to why they wouldn't work properly for me??

The only thing i can think of is the 8 pin connector on my psu, is it possible that it isn't working properly but all other cables are???

I'll give my ocz psu another go first but I have just found my old hiper 530w  psu which has a 8 pin cpu cable so i'll try that if my ocz wont work, but wont be using it because it says the 12v rail outputs 384w and psu calculator rates my system as needing 391w, plus it only has 1 6 pin gpu cable so i'll be having to use a 6 pin extension cable which i have.

Got the cpu and mobo back about an hour ago put everything together outside the case and had the same problem with my ocz psu

So i tried it with my hiper psu, which has been stored in my shed for about 3 years and it started straight way :D

It must have been down to the ocz's 8 pin cpu cable, so now i need a new psu because i dont trust my hiper 530w.

So what psu should i go for, cost doesn't matter, needs to be atleast 600w and preferably modular.

The 24pin ATX is 450mm
The 4+4pin ATX is 560mm
