Which speakers are best for a £100? I'm clueless when it comes to speakers, I want them mainly for clear sound quality, I'm not fussed if they don't produce deep bass, but some bass is good. Please help.

Thanks.

Do you want active or passive ?, a lot of studio monitors are active, Tannoy Reveal 501A would be a good choice, if you want passive then JBL Control 1PRO's are very good, They do the PRO's and non PRO's ...make sure you look at the slightly more expensive PRO's

The stereo speakers rated as pretty good for £100 appear to be Wharfdale Diamond 9.1

Don't forget that 'monitors' are for sound production, whilst 'speakers' are for listening and enjoying.

If they are not for music production, then Edifier R1600T's are worth considering. M-Audio AV40's are also very good, and would be a better choice if you do want speakers for music production.

If you dont mind buying 2nd hand a friend of mine bought a used set of Bowers & Wilkins DM601 for about £120 and they sound amazing. Quite often if you see small studio setups you'll notice their using those distinct yellow B&Ws

It's more likely they're using KRK Rokits/PR series monitors, actually. Those also have the yellow woofer cone and are priced cheap enough that the 6" and 8" models don't break the bank. They also have a hyped low end which is why you see a lot of hip hop guys using them (little wonder their mixes are often too bass heavy).

no you don't... Those are definitely KRK's (I'd say the VXT 6's to be precise)
