Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3

I wish IW didn't force me to play with laggy ******* foreign ****! The hit detection is bad enough without having to play against people from outside my country.
 
I've just had a game with a lobby full of spanish folk and the hit detection was the worst i've seen. I would have to fire dead on with 5 bullets just to get 1 hit. It really needs a locale setting.
 
I'm never really in lobby chat to know which nationality people are - everyone sounds robotic for some reason?!

I thought the new maps would be on the content calendar by now - surely they must be out in 6 days time for elite subs?
 
You can instantly tell when the BS starts to happen, scan down each player to see what country they are from and you will find Johnny Foreigner in there somewhere.

I was thinking that too, gotta be next Tuesday.
 
Locale is a bit of a placebo setting. I don't want to play another cod without the region lock on the most popular playlists which we know from MW3 is an option on Microsoft's matchmaking servers because they've had to patch around it twice to satisfy Romanians, Egyptians etc.

If you go on Pingtest.net and compare Spanish servers the 2/4 that work give me ridiculous jitter figures

73ms ping 29ms jitter
88ms ping 32ms jitter

yet I can ping LA 5350 miles away 156ms ping with zero jitter. The rest of Europe is pretty much zero jitter too.

May 15th

FREE to all players the new “Face-Off” mode and 2 Maps:

  • Aground is set on a shipwreck off the coast of Scotland.
  • Erosion sees you running around Roman ruins in Italy while Mount Vesuvius erupts in the background.

May 22nd - DLC collection 2 released

2 more "FACE OFF" maps:
  • Getaway plays out in a beachside mansion in Brazil.
  • Lookout is set in a forward observation post in Afghanistan.

An extra multiplayer map:
  • Oasis: it’s set on a beach resort in the United Arab Emirates. “It’s actually in or near one of the levels from single player – the one that takes place in UAE. You can see part of that level in the background in this level. It’s all new geo but it’s in the same area.”

2 Spec-Ops Missions:
  • Ironclad.
  • Killswitch.

(Plus the two already released multiplayer maps Sanctuary and Foundation complete the collection).


Achievements also coming:

  • Don't Tread on Me (15)
Complete the "Iron Clad" Special Ops mission on any difficulty.

  • High Roller (25)
Complete the "Iron Clad" Special Ops mission on Veteran difficulty.
  • Not a Scratch (35)
Finish with your tank at full health in the "Iron Clad" Special Ops mission.

  • One-Four-One (15)
Complete the "Kill Switch" Special Ops mission on any difficulty.
  • Helipocalypse (30)
Destroy 6 helicopters in the "Kill Switch" Special Ops mission.
  • EMPressive... (30)
Complete the "Kill Switch" Special Ops mission on Veteran difficulty.

So what's happened to the Elite Premium Schedule? Are we going to get even less exclusivity than prior to Collection 1 which was about a week for the last drops.
 
Sigh played some Hc rico Dom to get the jack in the box emblem( tactical spawn), the amount of nade and launcher spamming is unreal, in 1 round i died about 20 times and out of that think was only killed twice by a gun.
 
Blast Shield is getting a multiplier buff for HC.

Oh dear so there are 4 face off maps for kids to quickscope and boost on.

I'm not fussed about the maps, but I've said for a long time that CoD needed a doubles/2vs2 mode and atleast they've finally implemented one. I've always been sick to death of losing games when it's just me and one other person playing, all because the rest of the team is completely useless.
 
just tried to fire up mw3 and all i get is game unavailable, everything was fine untill it updated itself this morning, have verified integrity of game and its all ok.
any ideas or do i just reinstall it from the disk.

MW3 is still full of hitmarkers and insta-deaths for me, which is very frustrating (many have heard the rage :o). My xbox is on a dedicated 40/10 wired bt infinity connection which I have checked and double checked so many times that I know it's not that thats causing the lag compensation problems I have... :(

Still, will be interested in the 2vs2 modes. Better put my tryhard pants on!
 
Lots of people seem to say their problems disappeared after changing the HH3 for another router. You can see if that would make a difference by plugging the 360 direct into the Openreach modem. The modem can go flaky as well when it gets hot.

I'm probably going to replace the lot eventually once I get mine.

Know your pain. It's hard to motivate myself to play at the moment
