considering cpu @ 4.4ghz 8gb ddr default 1600, and i have 1x 120gb ssd drive and 2 normal wd

cost is an issue and a good price/performance psu would be good.

Without reviews it's hard to tell.

I'm hoping for <750W.

850 has been the minimum for past X80's though from NVidia, so you'd be safe with that.

stock 670's look likely to be well under 200w each, so even if you go OTT and say 200w for the rest of the system you are looking at 600-650W should be fine, as long as you can put together enough PCIe power connectors to power them

but surely OCUK only sell quality products?
surely they wouldn't put their own good name to a duff psu?

personally I've always bought "good value" psu's and never once has it caused me a problem

You get what you pay for.
They sell some truly **** products which are NOT suitable for high/mid end rigs. They're designed for low end of market

This shows an OC card using no more than 400W and this is with a single SSD and DVD drive (can't see the processor but would imaine it to be a 2700K).

They do say add a max of 10% for other systems but you can use this as a rough guide.

I just splashed 110 quid on a OCZ ZX 850w, its fully modular so anything not needed can be left out and has 4 x 6+2 pin pcie connectors for dual high end cards.

Also what KD says, id rather spend a fortune on a good PSU, my old psu was a antec true power 1000w and it lasted for 5 years of 8 hours a day use. Looked like id hoovered the floors with it but still worked fine.

On topic, Buy the best you can, but make sure its 750w minimum from a reputable vendor and not some LoLPsuGoBoom company were you get 3000w for 60 quid. The way i see it, the bigger and better you buy you can add parts to your pc and not worry about power issues. Also be future proofed so no need to buy another bigger psu down the line.

Went for a corsair ax850 when I got my 6990, cannot fault it. Very stable psu, fully modular and silent operation.

What they take from the wall and what you need are two different things. 750w will be more than enough for 2 high end cards + everything else you have.

As King Damager said, never buy a cheap PSU, it's one of the few real future proof items for any rig.

Got the older HX 850w model here, it's coped extremely well with gtx 470's in sli, (more power hungry than a third world dictator). So i expect no issues with sli'd 670's.
