***The Official Samsung Galaxy S III Thread***

The x ray proof will be a selling point to poor saps who have to travel through scanners in the USA currently in airports soon to be on streets:(

I've had that 64GB Sandisk in my basket for weeks :(

Hopefully the SGS3 won't be the only phone with a 720p screen, 28/32nm SoC and SD card slot released this year!

Pretty sure it won't be :)

I think 720P will be the new norm res. for the next year or 2 just like 480x800 was for the last couple of years.

No idea about the processors, don't motorola usually use the same CPU's as HTC?

I'm getting the 32GB one that's coming with the phone via CPW. Will probably eventually grab the 64GB.

I think that this was one of the clinchers for me getting the SIII in that there is no longer the need to format the SD card to FAT32 and by so having the 4gb limit for video files. I'm assuming that the FLAC lovers will be liking this as well.

Can you simplify this for me please?

If I wanted files bigger than 4GB on this phones SD card can any card do it or does it need to be an "xc" card. Also do I just format it as NTFS or will the phone be able to format it appropriately for >4GB sizes?

So I was pretty much decided on the new S3, however I didn't realize my carrier were getting the OneX! Now I don't know which route to go, I've had an Evo for 2yrs now and can't fault it at all! Never had a Samsung phone, not sure on TouchWiz.
Looks pretty tasty:

Pretty easy decision really :p

Combined with the dual core krait, sense V4.0 with a 720P IPS screen, better design and perceived quality most likely and a 2000mAh battery!

Beast of a phone right there!

Well the cheap pouch came today and it's rather good quality, just like the Touchpad one I bought, in fact it's an exact replica just...smaller.

Somehow I am doubting it will fit the S3 without leaving some of the top exposed though...Will have to see but I want to see what hard cases are coming out because if there's a s2-mesh case variant from Samsung I will go that route as opposed to a Mofi pouch.

After using this on my S2 above I realised why I never bothered with Pouched since the HTC Magic days, way too much faff and I dislike faff!

I think I'll probably end up sticking with HTC, I like Samsung but not hugely sold on the design. End of the day hardware wise they both seem pretty identical.

This is what i am wondering i have the one x well had 4 all faults , so i can send it back and get the s3 at no extra charge , but now i am wondering do we need all this horsepower in a phone quad cores etc .....

A few years ago people claimed you didn't need more than dual core on desktops. If you want it to last, it's a safe bet.

Are you sure people didn't claim you didn't need more that dual core on a desktop at that point in time? I doubt anyone claimed you'd never need more than two.

A high end dual core is still more than enough for most people even today.
