What is the point of a consultation, if you don't listen to the people? I remember going to Walthamstow and it was great fun, it was not like it wasn't viable to run the family running it just sold out.
I think we should be more worried about the jobs created than places to live, what is the point of having places to live if there are no jobs?

During a consultation 433 representations were received by Waltham Forest Council, with 412 objecting to the proposal and 18 supporting it.
As well as objections over the loss of the historic structure, there have been concerns from residents about the height of the proposed buildings and the impact of increased traffic.

To recap, the councillors who voted for the plans were Jenny Gray (Leytonstone ward, Labour), Asim Mahmood (Markhouse, Labour), Ebony Vincent (Markhouse, Labour) and committee chair Peter Barnett (Wood Street, Labour).
Those councillors who voted against were Ed Northover (Larkswood, Conservative), Alan Siggers (Valley, Conservative) and Liz Phillips (Cann Hall, Liberal Democrat).
