OcUK MTB MEET GLENTRESS May 12th-13th

Found a spoke dangling out of my rear wheel earlier, and since I don't have a clue what I'm doing, tomorrow is going to be spent rushing around trying to find a bike shop that will do it in the same day! :( I hate being a noob, I wouldn't have minded this happening with more time left, I could have taken my time and learnt.. But not this soon :(

Your wheel should be fine even with a few spokes missing, rear wheel is the best wheel to crash on anyway :D

Will it cope then? I don't mind any damage, as long as it will last.. I do plan on replacing the rear wheel at least, when it's had a full on bashing :p

There is a bike shop in Innerleithen if you're stuck.
Not been in myself, but it's an alpinebikes and i'v been in a few of their other stores, i'm sure they'll be able to sort you out pretty quick.

Alpine Bikes are in Inners and at GT just across from the Wigwams. Getting it fixed won't be a problem. Worst come to worst I will fix it for you. You might have an egg shaped clown wheel but hey, it will make for entertainment! :D

Thanks guys, made me feel better and much more relaxed haha.. weescott, my riding will be comical enough, without me having a deformed wheel. :p

This time last year I was just going for my first bike ride in 10 years, on my mighty carrera vengeance ;) I really am poor, but I'll still give it a go! :p

Yeah, just seen the weather. It wouldn't bother me if I wasn't camping. I have a feeling there could be some waterlogging, I suppose it depends how good the drainage is in the camping field/area. May have to reconsider or see if there's been any cancellations in the wigwams.

Don't be a gurlll ride harder and you'll sleep through anything :D

A bit of rain?! Potentially 18 hours of constant heavy rain! I don't mind riding in the rain/mud, but if the camping field is waterlogged....?

I spoke to the site earlier and they said there may be some waterlogging on the flat pitches but the sloped pitches should be fine. I also asked them to call me if there are any cancellations on any wigwams.
