Margret Thatcher has not died!

Indeed - funny how so many hoping with excitement for news of her death were at best just children when she was in power.

Indeed.

There are probably many who have genuine gripes with how Thatcher run this country. But there is a cringeworthy amount of people who hate her and when asked why cannot answer.

It's almost as if it is 'cool' to hate her, with some.

Not really.

If she didnt squander the oil money and privatize everything we would be a lot better off

Why didn't Labour re-nationalise everything when they were in power? Why didn't Labour re-open the coal mines?

They had 13 years to reverse Thatcher's policies and yet they continued and acclerated them if anything.

Your statement is flawed. You assume that New Labour were competent in any financial capacity, history proves this not to be the case.

There ability (or lack of) to run the economy is unrelated as to why they didn't re-nationalise the railways, BT etc.

If Thatcher's privatisation was so evil and the cause of all the world's evils Labour could have simply reversed it, but they didn't. If closing the coal mines was so evil (like that job would pass any kind of H&S legislation nowadays) why didn't Labour re-open them?

Quite. I grew up during Major's and Blair's governments, sadly.

I cannot abide the hate for Thatcher - especially as it's almost solely propagated by left wing lunatics who are so short sighted they cannot see past the next strike for something they don't deserve.

I have no time for the left, especially when they claim to be for every man and yet their government only seems to support those who are least deserving, whilst making the rich richer (something they are apparently dead against). My grandparents take solace when they are shivvering at home working out whether than can afford to eat and heat knowing their pension is being frittered away fighting illegal wars, supporting prisoners in better conditions than the elderly, providing john prescott with two jaguars and making sure that the shameless type families in the uk are free to breed and roam.

**** the left.

We need to destroy the lib dems and allow the tories to govern as true tories and sort this country out. Our society is growing more pathetic by the minute, and it sickens me.

In fact I think I might vent some frustration raping and pillaging as the left see this as an acceptable way to behave - see you in 18 months or so ;)

One things for sure; debating politics in person is a never ending hard task, debating politics on an Internet forum awful.

Debating about someone who was in office when you weren’t even born or in infant school makes it very interesting.

Many many years ago, I was told by a colleague that he had been driving around the M25 when all of a sudden all the cars started blowing their horns. He only found out why when he got back: the radio news had just (incorrectly at the time) reported Thatcher's resignation as party leader at the beginning of the contest which eventually removed her. Opinions of her rule tend to be very polarised, and even more so for those of us who live through the reign.

Good old Thatcher, whose policies laid waste countless working communities and promoted selfishness, 'me first' and the love of money above all else.
Not sure she'll ever die though, you'd have to possess a heart first in order for it to stop beating.

And yes, I am old enough to have lived through it, unfortunately.

Ah, I see you also went to a comp under labour.

It's not your fault, nobody blames you. But yes, I'd like to go large and can I have a strawberry milkshake with my mcmeal please.

I thought the school holidays was over?

I thought the school holiday was over.

or

I though the school holidays were over.

Take your pick, but if you're going to suggest that I should be back at school, at least make an effort to look like you attended school yourself at some point.
